Twiggs County GA Deputy Richard Daniels was killed when his patrol car struck a fallen tree on U.S. 80, near Turkey Creek.

He suffered fatal head injuries and died at the scene.

Deputy Daniels is survived by his wife and infant daughter.

your strange fascination with glorifying someone wearing a badge notwithstanding, I feel badly for the little girl who will now grow up without her father. But lets face reality, shall we? the officer in question did not die a 'hero' by taking a bullet in front of some kid or by tasing an 86 year old aggressive bed-ridden granny. he hit a downed tree he didn't see in a storm. sad, but not heroic, except for the badge blowers like you.
