* A federal jury has awarded $865,000 to a veteran who claimed he was beaten by an unknown St. Louis Missouri police officer while he was handcuffed. The suit also named the police board as a defendant for failed oversight for allowing such abuse to continue given only a single sustained finding of brutality out of 322 complaints in five years. Surprisingly, even the judge in this case openly questioned that board’s handling of abuse allegations.could this mean that at least SOME people are starting to wake up now?
* A Chicago Illinois police officer is the subject of a lawsuit filed by a 67-year-old disabled woman who claims the officer came up to her while she was talking with a friend and began harassing them, saying he bet they had no insurance or valid licenses and when she said she did he allegedly told her to “shut the fuck up” and began to arrest her. He proceeded to wrench her arms behind her back and when he began to drag her back to the car she fell to the ground and couldn’t get up. The officer apparently charged her with disorderly conduct and other charges that were eventually dismissed.this has been longstanding chicago style law enforcement, which is why mayor daley pays out millions a year in settlements to avoid lawsuits.
* A Fayetteville North Carolina police officer received a suspended sentence and five years of probation in a plea deal that also prohibits him from keeping animals over what was originally 8 felony counts of animal cruelty on allegations that he buried 8 puppies alive. 6 of the puppies survived after his daughter called 911 on him and helped her boyfriend dig them back up.disgusting. would a civilian have been given such leniency?
* The Hyattsville Maryland police department is facing a contempt of court order regarding their failure to turn over documents involving a lawsuit filed against the department by a man who claims he was pistol-whipped by an off-duty police officer with a history of violent behavior. The police say that it’s illegal for them to release the reports being demanded because of the state law that keeps misconduct records secret.i'd like to see this 'law' be ruled unconstitutional now that the police are trying to use it as a shield.

* Washington DC police and prosecutors have been accused of knowing about how their breathalyzer machines were inaccurately adding up to 20% to BAC test results for at least 2 years but continued to use them to convict people on DUI charges in the first of what may be several lawsuits filed by one of the 400 people convicted using those machines.The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.

* Lee County Florida deputies are accused of running continued surveillance on a woman who moved into a home that was previously rented by a man wanted on a warrant. She alleges that she allowed deputies in once when they came with a face-masked tactical unit to show them the man they were looking for wasn’t there… but that wasn’t good enough as they continue to monitor her and her family. More disturbing than that is that she also alleges they broke into her home while she wasn’t there and rifled through her mail.
* A Cypress California police officer was arrested for suspicion of oral copulation with a child under the age of 10 after a young female relative accused him of sexually assaulting her while she was visiting.
* An Anderson California police officer who was already arrested on allegations that he raped a female DUI suspect while transporting her to jail is also accused of attempting to coerce a rape victim to have sex with him the same night she was raped after he picked her up from the scene of that rape to drive her home.
* Two Youngstown Ohio police officers have been fired over an incident where a paraplegic man was dragged out of a car after an accident and beaten by one of the officers, then left in the snow with his pants down, then beaten some more when he complained about how those officers were mistreating a female relative who showed up afterward.
* A Monroe County Florida deputy was fired and arrested on allegations that he furnished alcohol to a 15-year-old boy then fondled him after showing him some porn.
* A College of Lake County Illinois police officer was sentenced to 10 years in prison for molesting an underage girl then harassing her while he was out on bail for it.
* A Findlay Ohio police officer is accused of using excessive force after a 15-year-old suffered head injuries including bleeding on the brain after he was tasered in the head while fleeing cops who were chasing him for being suspected of shoplifting.
* Three Tecumseh Michigan police officers have been disciplined for giving a drunk deputy a ride home instead of arresting him for driving while drunk after they tested him at .19 BAC. He later left his home to pick up his car and crashed it while still drunk, at which point he was arrested by state police.
* A Southern Louisiana University police officer was arrested on cyberstalking charges for superimposing the faces of two women that he worked with onto pornographic images of women and posting them on adult websites.
