With these actions, Llano joins a growing number of communities across America where conservatives have mounted challenges to books and other content related to race, sex, gender and other subjects they deem inappropriate.

A movement that started in schools has rapidly expanded to public libraries, accounting for 37 percent of book challenges last year, according to the American Library Association. Conservative activists in several states, including Texas, Montana and Louisiana have joined forces with like-minded officials to dissolve libraries’ governing bodies, rewrite or delete censorship protections, and remove books outside of official challenge procedures.

Republicans realize we are flawed as a nation. They don't see mistakes as opporunities to improve they see them as flaw.

They, therefore have embarked on a mission to sweep anything about US history they're embarassed about, under the rug.

Most Republicans now, either are racists or ignore racism in their party as well as Anti LGBT speech. That's why all these CRT wars are happening.

Education is the Republicans enemy. Like all authoritarians, Republicans now, wish to keep the flock in the dark about what's really happening.

They're going to fail. We're not falling for it.

Why do libraries even exist anymore?

After banning Muslims, reproductive choice, and CRT, we can only imagine banning Harry Potter books is next on the MAGA agenda.

To serve the reading, listening and viewing public like me, with free literature, audio, and streaming content.
I just find it easier to read, listen and view from my home. What’s available at a library that’s not at home? I really don’t care where one reads, listens, or views. :dunno:

You can watch streaming video and audio content from the library at home, and for FREE.

Did you think libraries haven't caught up to 21st century technology?

None of the streaming video or audio services you subscribe to are free, and you can't get an audiobook or download for Kindle for free from a private vendor.

Yes you do

You want libraries closed

Because in a library you can look at any book and no one is tracking what you look at

You are a Russo bot hole who’s programmed to hate freedom of information
