The American People Are Watching

I am constantly amused by what seems an obsession by everyone in America to belabour the point that they are American. Clearly this is necessary for a people who basically have no idea who they really are. 'The American people are watching' as opposed to what? American puppy dogs? Residents of New Zealand?
One never hears Angela Merkel start a speech with, 'My fellow Chermans ...', or Sarkozy starting with 'We Fenchies ..' or Medvedev addressing his fellow Russians.
These people have a national confidence that makes it unnecessary to constantly affirm their identity. Poor old America. Confused by their very names, misguided in their view of the world and ignorant of their place in it.
Keep your flags waving, at least they help you find your homes!

I consider real Americans are the people who work, pay their taxes, and play by the rules. These miscreants and losers at occupy sites are not contributing members of our society and not real Americans. We'll stick our flag pole right up your leftist faggot ass.

I do not, nor have I ever, owned a donkey of ANY known sexual persuasion.
So, by adding up what you and various other American gentlemen have said in the past: a 'real' American is one who owns a gun in case the government decide to commit murder and mayhem but is not prepared to write letters or to protest on the streets.
A Real American can only vote for the extreme right, believes in creationism, believes that America leads the world in everything, invented democracy (even though they hate democrats).
A real American salutes his flag which flutters above his porch, owns more cars than he needs and will drill for oil literally anywhere.
A real American male must have facial hair in abundance and be loud enough that he does not need a phone while his wife must have a voice like a Disney character and constantly scream and squeal like the brakes on a badly maintained bus.
What a shame that a few occasionally escape to visit other parts of the world.
