how its "done"....its still ongoing and we do not know the outcome....bit premature jarod
Libya; at this particular moment, we were faced with the prospect of violence on a horrific scale.
We have intervened to stop a massacre
Preemptive according to what? According to the idea that Libya hadn't attacked us or Europe? Yeah, but we have little reason to believe that said event would happen anyways, so we didn't preempt that.obama admits the war/action was in fact preemptive....i wonder if the morons who've claimed it was not preemptive will change their view now that the CIC admitted it was preemptive

Strictly speaking he only stopped the continued mass violence. He didn't preempt it, unless you mean he preempted its continuation.his words are right there in the quote...here they are again:
that is from the speech he just made....he states we intervened to prevent a massacre....thats preemption, not for us, but still is preemptive military force

I know this ismostlyall hair splitting. But trying to paint it differently than what it actually is, in my mind, goes and destroys all the good that can come from these actions.
he said it clear as day...."we were faced with the prospect of violence on a horrific scale"....thats why we went in....that is preemptive. i don't see it as hair splitting at all. there was some violence, but we didn't go in based on that, we went in to prevent a massacre, violence on a horrific scale. i'm not sure why you think that is hair splitting. i seriously doubt if he believed the fighting would be over quickly, we would have gone in. he leaves no doubt that our goal was to preempt a massacre.
desperate for this to be "just like Iraq"?Soooooo desperate for this to be "just like Iraq".....
The hair splitting comment was more in regards to what you and I are doing.he said it clear as day...."we were faced with the prospect of violence on a horrific scale"....thats why we went in....that is preemptive. i don't see it as hair splitting at all. there was some violence, but we didn't go in based on that, we went in to prevent a massacre, violence on a horrific scale. i'm not sure why you think that is hair splitting. i seriously doubt if he believed the fighting would be over quickly, we would have gone in. he leaves no doubt that our goal was to preempt a massacre.
Please explain 3 differences between Iraq and Libya. Also, keep in mind Libya is a DIRECT RESULT of our actions in Iraq. The amazing contrast between this and Iraq is great, I'm loving it. It's not that force should never be used, but that there is a way to do it and a way not to do it!!!
