Thanksgiving Dinner 2025 5% Cheaper then 2024, Contrary to the Left Lies

IMO all meals should be made from scratch,...but especially a Thanksgiving feast. Probably a lot cheaper too,....and a whole lot better for you as well. Do this and you will have a much better meal and most likely save some money. If you don't,....that's ON YOU.

You know what Thanksgiving always reminds me of ? Of all things.....steamy windows! LOL The home I grew up in was built in the 50's,....windows were a lot different back then,...to say the least. :ROFLMAO: Wisconsin was colder too, and much more snow by Thanksgiving then there is now. But the memory of some of those windows steaming up from my Mother cooking all the various things that needed to be prepared has always stuck with me! Thanksgiving=STEAMY windows!

Those were great times when I was a kid. I would go sledding on the big hill for awhile,...then come in to warm up and watch a little football,....then go jump on the snowmobile and go riding for awhile,....come back in and warm up again...More football. " Mommmmm!!! When is it going to be ready?!" :)

Today is our MINI T day,...just US and one son. Kids all spread out. Saturday is the main attraction. A whole house full. I like it better this way actually,....today I can kick back and watch football mostly.

News Groups Reporting Higher Costs

  • Yahoo Lifestyle / Hearst Magazines
    • Estimated a 26% increase year-over-year, putting the average dinner for 10 at $73.09, compared to $58.08 in 2024.
    • Their analysis emphasized higher turkey prices (up ~25–40% per pound) and inflation in sides like potatoes and bread.
  • Marketplace (American Public Media)
    • Reported “dueling narratives” — while the Farm Bureau says costs are down, Deloitte and Groundwork Collaborative estimated up to 10% higher costs for a typical meal.
    • Highlighted that vegetables and sweet potatoes rose sharply (+61% and +37% respectively), which can offset turkey discounts.
  • USA Today Network – Wisconsin
    • Regional reporting suggested higher turkey wholesale prices (up 40–75%) due to bird flu, which could make meals more expensive in the Midwest despite Farm Bureau’s national average decline.
  • Yahoo News Canada (fact-checking Trump’s claim)
    • Noted Walmart’s “25% cheaper basket” was misleading because it contained fewer items than last year, meaning the apparent savings don’t reflect a full traditional meal.

The sad undeniable fact is that Trump's tariffs are hurting American consumers. Anyone going shopping or out to eat knows that well. Even Trumpys see the truth, but they do not say it here. Some Trumpian corporations are eating the costs until Thanksgiving is over. This Trump basket of food is smaller that previous ones and uses store brands to lower the costs. If you shop, ypou know this is fake. It is expected that the genius in the White House will cost American consumers about $ 2700 this year. More the year after.

News Groups are not prices, Sybil.

The sad undeniable fact is that Trump's tariffs are hurting American consumers.
Buy domestic. No tariffs!
Anyone going shopping or out to eat knows that well.
Food is generally domestically produced, Sybil.
Even Trumpys see the truth, but they do not say it here.
Your lies are not truth, Sybil.

What 'Trumpian corporations'?? Buzzword fallacy.

You can't blame the devaluation of the dollar during the last economic depression on Trump, Sybil.
