apr 21 2023 A 20-year-old Colorado woman was killed after a large rock was thrown at her vehicle. The victim was one of at least five victims of rock attacks on cars in the Denver area.

Around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, a large rock was launched at a yellow Chevy Spark. At the time of the attack, Alexa Bartell was on the phone with her friend. The phone call went silent.

Bartell's friend used an app to locate Alexa’s phone. The friend found Alexa's Spark in a field off the road. The 20-year-old woman was dead inside her car near Denver, Colorado.

Police suspect that the rock was thrown from another vehicle or from the side of the road.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office declared Bartell's death to be a homicide.

The rock attack on Bartell was one of at least five similar incidents that occurred over a span of a little over two hours.

Clearly the driver was not texting, but rather talking on the phone. It does not say whether the talking was hands free, but going silent certainly suggests that. Texting Driver has trouble understanding a simple story on The Blaze (a conspiracy website for the barely literate).

It says she was on a phone, you moron. That is text-driving. Whether she was reading a message at that moment or typing one or talking to the other person, it is still text-driving. Stop defending highway terrorists, you criminal coddling tranny.

She was speaking on the phone. Her friend was talking to her, while she was driving. That is not "text-driving", not "reading a message", and not "typing." That is speaking over the phone.

Have you ever used a phone?

It was probably hands free talking on the phone, so legal in all 50 states.
 
The only smart thing I've ever seen TDAK do on this forum is abandon this ill-conceived and stupid thread.

You might actually be right. There is a slight difference that has been shown between talking on the phone, and talking in person.

But it is legal. And it is not a big difference. Should talking to a driver in general be illegal?

Talking on a phone is not texting, you idiot. Read the story, use the comprehension skills of a first grader, and someday you too may become smarter than a racist Neo Nazi. The person on the other side of a text cannot tell when the phone "goes silent".
