(CNN) Five mortuary trailers have been requested by the health services department in Texas, which is seeing a surge in Covid-19 cases and, along with Florida, leads the nation in pediatric hospitalizations.

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) submitted a request for the trailers following a review of state data on fatalities, according to spokesman Douglas Loveday.

The request was submitted August 4 as "a normal part of preparedness to have these available to support local jurisdictions in case they need them," he said.

Yeah but the order didn't come from Abbott, it came from Chris Van Deusen, the spokesperson for the Department of State Health Services.

Just like DeSantis.................clueless.

But according to CNN, Gov. Ron DeSantis "claims he's unaware of the shipment."

"A health administration official confirms the Strategic National Stockpile sent 200 ventilators and 100 high-flow nasal cannula kits to the state of Florida 'earlier this week.' The SNS sends equipment when it receives requests from states and their health departments, according to the official. Despite that, DeSantis told reporters Tuesday that he was unaware of the request for the medical supplies."

OK ... matters not who made the request ... what matters is PRIOR PLANNING.

That is the job of/for government and that is just what TEXAS did.

Your comments about florida may or may not be true ... after all you use xinn as your source ... but they are absolutely irrelevant to the subject of this thread ... which is ... Texas requests five mortuary trailers during Covid-19 surge

The Texas governor appealed for out-of-state medical help as COVID-19 hospitalizations soared, but he stopped short of reversing his ban on mask mandates even as leaders of the state’s largest cities and school systems imposed them.

Gov. Greg Abbott directed the state health department to use staffing agencies to find additional medical staff as the Delta variant overwhelmed hospitals statewide. Abbott also has sent a letter to the Texas Hospital Assn. requesting that hospitals postpone elective medical procedures.

Both are an after thought.
