it truly is pathetic how you dems shit on her memory by bringing up bush.....fuck that he did it too bull....especially in this case.....totally classless and uncalled for....

Analysis: Afghan summer brings reversals

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090826/ap_on_re_as/as_afghan_setbacks_analysis

i would agree with you that this does look like a two day thing or more....maybe because i get most of my news is off the net (have sworn off tv until...well, soon, maybe) , i don't hear all the news heads....but in the article, zero mention of the casualities.....

highest record dead for one month, highest record year ever, 2nd deadliest month

since the afghanistan invasion began....

perhaps i should rephrase my sources as being 95% web based and not listening to a talking head and when i visit friends or family, i see talking heads.....

It was Laura, not george, and the point is that both drivers got away with it with no consequences because of their connections.

You're the last one to call anything classless.

Laura Bush Killed a Guy?
April 20th, 2009 - 7:33 pm ICT by GD -

The animated Fox show Family Guy is known to be politically incorrect but they really pushed the envelope with the catch phrase Laura Bush Killed a Guy on their December 7, 2008 show. Lead characters Peter and Lois griffin repeated the phrase a number of times during the show. But what did they base the remark on?

According to public police records, former First Lady Laura Bush, then called Laura Welch, blew a stop sign and was involved in a car crash that killed a friend of hers in a different car. Mrs. Bushs spokesman Andrew Malcolm released a statement in 2000 when the crash was first spoken about during President Bushs run for the White House, saying It was a very tragic accident that deeply affected the families and was very painful for all involved, including the community at large. To this day, Mrs. Bush remains unable to talk about it.

Mrs Bush had allegedly hit a sedan that was being driven by her 17 year old friend Michael Douglas. Rumors say she might have been criminally negligent, implying that she was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the fatal crash. No charges were filed and no evidence was ever recorded.

Ted's written statement

"On July 18, 1969, at approximately 11:15 p.m., on Chappaquiddick Island, Martha's Vineyard, I was driving my car on Main Street on my way to get the ferry back to Edgartown."

"I was unfamiliar with the road and turned on to Dike Road instead of bearing left on Main Street. After proceeding for approximately a half mile on Dike Road I descended a hill and came upon a narrow bridge. The car went off the side of the bridge. There was one passenger in the car with me, Miss _______, a former secretary of my brother Robert Kennedy. The car turned over and sank into the water and landed with the roof resting on the bottom."

"I attempted to open the door and window of the car but have no recollection of how I got out of the car. I came to the surface and then repeatedly dove down to the car in an attempt to see if the passenger was still in the car. I was unsuccessful in the attempt.

"I was exhausted and in a state of shock. I recall walking back to where my friends were eating. There was a car parked in front of the cottage and I climbed into the back seat. I then asked for someone to bring me back to Edgartown. I remember walking around for a period of time and then going back to my hotel room. When I fully realized what happened this morning, I immediately contacted the police."

What is it with this pudding thing?

I like good homemade puidding.
It's a wise ass crack about Asshat's paronia. He's to dangerous (mostly to himself) to be trusted with a metal spoon so we relegate him to eating pudding with a plastic spoon. It's safer that way (mainly for him.).

Ha! Someone coming from the State the produced the likes of a reactionary fascist bigot like Jesse Helms has no room to talk.
Helms wasn't a bigot or a fascist. You must be thinking of Robert C. Byrd Democrat West Virginia.

BTW do you know what the WV State flower is?

YOu've got to be kidding me? I lived in NC you forget. No one in the modern history of American Government did more to institutionalize racism then Jesse Helms. Not Strom Thrumand, not Robert Byrd or even George Wallace did as much damage as Helms did. As chair of the Senate Foreign Relations committee he set the US back 50 years. Teddy Kennedy may have been a social welfare state liberal who supported some pretty bad ideas but he pales compared to the horrific record of Jesse Helms who is unquestionably one of the worst Senators in US History and a major embarrasement to the reputation of the United States as a civilized nation.

That's simply your opinion. *shrug*

the fact that Dubya avoided killing someone while driving drunk is only a matter of exceptionally good luck for him. In HIS case, he was careening around the town of Kennebunkport, drunk as a skunk, behind the wheel of his daddy's fancy car.... he failed to negotiate a turn... ran up over the curve, across a sidewalk and smashed into and through a hedge.

Kennebunkport is a BUSY tourist venue... that there were no tourists on that sidewalk to be mowed down by Bush's out of control car is really too bad in retrospect. One or two tourists giving their lives in 1976 would have nipped young Georgie's political career in the bud and would have ended up saving over four thousand American lives and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives thirty years later.

He was indeed lucky!

I dunno how lucky he wass. Kennebunkport isn't the crowded metro hub that maineman claims. The sparseness, after all, is what attracted the Bush family to it. We are lucky though, that W was our president and was able to kill Saddam and all those terrorists that would do us all harm.

my guess is that I have spent a lot more days and nights roaming the streets of kennebunkport than you ever have.

What attracted the WALKERS to the town was the great real estate that their money could buy.

I'm sure you've spent many a drunken night there. What's your point?
