Public school teacher arrested for child exploitation

Forty-year-old Joseph Komjathy is behind bars at the Brevard County jail charged with multiple counts related to child exploitation.
Komjathy is a middle school teacher in Brevard County, but according to the sheriff's office, his arrest is connected to a case out of Indian River County.
Komjathy stood in front of a judge for the first time Thursday facing five counts of distribution of harmful material to a minor and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff's office, Komjathy, a teacher at Stone Middle School, was arrested at his home on charges stemming from a warrant out of Indian River County.
The case report from the Indian River County Sheriff's Office was highly redacted but appears to show Komjathy's arrest was the result of an online chat investigation conducted by the sheriff's office.
In a statement sent to us by Brevard Public Schools, the district says: "BPS will work closely with law enforcement during the course of the investigation of the allegations against this individual. We will follow our protocols and proceed with any and all appropriate measures as more information becomes available."
The school district went on to say that Komjathy has been placed on leave.

Police have arrested 27-year-old Tyler Wallace in regards to an ongoing investigation for alleged grooming.
The Freeport School district confirmed Wallace was a teacher and assistant coach of the JV girls soccer team within the district.
The district released a statement saying, “The allegations are among the most serious that can be made against any adult, especially a school district employee. The employee was immediately placed on administrative leave.”
Police say Wallace is being charged with Grooming, a Class 4 Felony.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested a teacher for pornographic images and inappropriately touching a student.
Parents reached out to HCSO after the grandmother of a juvenile student reported her grandchild had been inappropriately touched by a teacher at the school. Through investigative means, detectives identified the suspect, Matthew Hike, 33. Detectives found Hike had shared several images of pornographic nature with the juvenile, too.
Hike is charged with Lewd or Lascivious Molestation (x5), and Distribution of Obscene Material to a Minor (x3).

Marcus Johnson Allen, 37, was taken into custody on on charges of statutory rape, sodomy, enticing a child for indecent purposes, sexual assault by person with various authorities and child molestation.
According to openpayrolls.com, he was listed as a 6-8th grade teacher from 2013 to 2019. The site also lists Allen as a 9-12th grade teacher in 2020. In both instances, the Clayton County Board of Education was listed as the employer.
