Teacher Arrested for Sexually Abusing a Minor
A teacher at a middle school has been arrested for sexually abusing a minor under the age of 13.
David Reinoso, a teacher at I.S. 145 Joseph Pulitzer, located at 33-34 80th St., was arrested by New York State police and charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, according to authorities.
Reinoso, 43, who lives in Suffern in Rockland County, allegedly had sexual contact with the minor in South Blooming Grove in Orange County.
Reinoso has been a teacher at the I.S. 145 Joseph Pulitzer since 2010 and has worked for the DOE since 2004.

Police said they were alerted by the school system that Patricia Evans was involved with a male student.
The Mobile County Public School System said Evans is a first-year teacher at Theodore where she is known as Patricia Murray.
She was arrested Wednesday on the charge of a school employee engaging in a sex act with a student under 19.

On Tuesday, March 15, a Cleveland Middle School student found a camera discretely placed in the girls’ locker room.
After being notified by the student, school administrators contacted police, who promptly began an investigation.
Within 24 hours, eighth grade teacher Christopher Schroll, was identified and arrested.
“That’s a place where the middle school girls will go in and change for gym and sports,,” said police spokeswoman Evie West. “So, it’s especially concerning.”
Although Schroll has been arrested, West said the investigation is far from over.
She is concerned that his arrest may lead to the discovery of others who may have “reaped some consequences from a relationship with him as a teacher or mentor.”
“Maybe this is just the first step that he took into getting in that lifestyle,” West said. “I’m really hoping that that doesn’t come up to the surface and that we’re going to have people who have become victims of whatever he has chosen to do in the past. Maybe it’s not, but that’s what I’m hoping.”
West was grateful for the student who reported the camera to school officials, saying she displayed strength and “vigilance” in her actions.
“I really want to commend the student,” West said. “I think that’s really important that we really praise the student. Obviously, it was a female Cleveland Middle School student. That took a lot of bravery and a lot of trust to come to the administrators and say, ‘Hey, this is what I’ve found.'”
Cleveland City Schools released a statement Wednesday afternoon, saying, “our highest priority is the education, well-being, and protection of our students.”
Schroll has since been suspended.

Parents are still trying to wrap their heads around disturbing allegations being made against a longtime teacher who was charged with several counts of child endangerment and one count of lewdness for incidents that police said happened inside the classroom while he was teaching.
Nutley police arrested 58-year-old Richard Dunn on Tuesday after an investigation tied him to at least two separate incidents.
The first incident that was reported to authorities occurred on March 11 at Nutley High School.
An investigation later uncovered a second incident which is said to have happened at a middle school on Feb 1.
While police did not provide details about the behavior they are calling “inappropriate,” parents PIX11 News spoke to claim they were told by students inside a media class that Dunn was masturbating at his desk. Video of the incident was widely shared on social media, causing a firestorm with parents online.
The clip also became part of the investigation.

A Harrisburg High School, John Harris Campus teacher was arrested on Wednesday, March 16, on charges of terroristic threats.
According to a letter sent by the school district’s Superintendent Eric Turman, the teacher caused serious public concern by sending an email to other staff members that contained several messages of threatening nature.
The Harrisburg Bureau of Police identified the teacher as David Delong. Police say Delong sent emails to staff that “contained several messages that could reasonably be translated as veiled threats.”
Delong was arrested at his residence without incident and transported to Dauphin County Booking for processing and arraignment.
According to the school’s website, Delong is a math teacher at the John Harris campus.
The initial announcement from Turman was part of a longer letter highlighting why both John Harris High School and SciTech moved to remote learning on Thursday, March 17.
The district says Delong had no prior criminal history and a full background check was completed prior to being hired.
