Trent Humphries told the Associated Press on Sunday he was surprised when shooting victim James Eric Fuller took a picture of him and said "you're dead." The 63-year-old Fuller was arrested Saturday on disorderly conduct and threat charges and taken for a psychiatric exam..."

Because dude, that isn't how it should be. Banning something does not solve the problem. This can certainly be seen as an analog to political issues. I would rather burden myself by constantly reminding and alerting everyone to the trolls than have them banned. In the end I hope to post on a board that doesn't need me to be alert or post this stuff, because we will rise above the need to feed trolls, and will attract a better group of users.
 
They don't "ban" me because I haven't broken the rules.

Interesting that some people consistently highjack my threads and harass me with bizarre accusations they cannot prove.

you have a good point...

i disagree on the role that moderators play. for example, USMB is a fairly heavily moderated board. they do not allow trolls and are very strict on it. as such, the board has numerous unique members. do they get all trolls, no, but they are great about banning trolls when they find them. this has lead to an increase in membership from when the board was owned by someone else. not saying it is the only factor, but if the mods or owner have a rule against trolls, and then allow one person to have hundreds of trolls, pass himself as other members on other boards, it weakens the board. allowing a couple of fun trolls is not a problem, but to allow one troll to run wild on the board isn't doing anyone any favors.

So you can't silence me because I haven't broken any rules, but you think it's OK to harass me by spamming my threads and making up wild stories about me, while claiming that "moderator's" posts are evidence?
