Taxpayers are being soaked

Why the f*ck were we giving $1.3k a month to a couple that decided to retire at 50 & 58 years old? We’ll have to bankroll them for another 20-25 years while they contribute literally nothing to the economy, and you’re mad we aren’t giving them more money???
50 is 15 years from Medicare, and 58 is 7 years from Medicare. So Obamacare is only going to have to subsidize them for an average of 11 years. How does she not know that?

Then they start getting subsidized by Medicare... Do you want to cancel Medicare?

Who said he doesn't?

Why should they get subsidized by the taxpayers?

Then they start getting subsidized by Medicare...

I thought taxpayers generally prepay for Medicare through FICA (Federal Insurance Contributions Act) taxes. FICA taxes, which are deducted from employees' paychecks and matched by employers, fund both Social Security and Medicare. Specifically, I seem to recall the Medicare portion of FICA (1.45% of wages for employees, matched by employers, for a total of 2.9%) goes toward funding Medicare Part A, which covers hospital insurance. Self-employed individuals pay the full 2.9% through the self-employment tax. Higher earners may also pay an additional Medicare tax of 0.9%. These contributions are collected during working years to fund Medicare benefits for retirees

Then most Medicare beneficiaries pay a monthly premium for Medicare Part B, which covers medical services like doctor visits and outpatient care, after age 65. In 2025, the standard Part B premium is $185.00 per month, but it can be higher for those with higher incomes (Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount, or IRMAA). Unlike Part A, which is largely funded by FICA taxes, Part B premiums are paid directly by beneficiaries, often deducted from Social Security benefits.

Do you want to cancel Medicare?

Did anyone say that?
