Mokoto Rich interviewed Jeffery Braverman in Cranford, N.J..

Even a $4,000 tax cut would not cause him to hire anyone.

"You still need to have the business need to hire,” says Braverman. “Business demand is what drives hiring.”

In the same piece Michael Kehs, CEO of Chesapeake Energy, said a tax advantage “does not drive our hiring.”

Jen-Hsun Huang, CEO of the high-tech company Nvidia concurred that tax breaks don’t affect his hiring decisions. Like many tech companies, he expects to increase his workforce “by twenty percent this year” based on customer demand.

When businesses are under-taxed, owners take the savings as extra profits. Under taxing doesn’t drive owners—or anyone else—to do civic good. It simply provides unearned income at another taxpayer’s expense.

Agreed. Those who say otherwise are spreading typical republican pro-business, anti-American spewage.

You need to examine the sources of government revenue.

Last year about 80 percent of these revenues came from personal income taxes and payroll taxes.

The mega-rich pay income taxes at a rate of 15 percent on most of their earnings but pay practically nothing in payroll taxes.

It’s a different story for the middle class: typically, they fall into the 15 percent and 25 percent income tax brackets, and then are hit with heavy payroll taxes to boot.

Back in the 1980s and 1990s, tax rates for the rich were far higher...

Anti American, I hate that, they may be mis guided, but I doubt it is anti American. I won't be too harsh on you, you seem to be new.

Businesses are not actually taxed on business expenses like hiring. Lowering "business taxes" simply means that the owner receives a larger percentage of the money he chose not to put back into the business. It's not actually a tax on anything to do with the core operations of the business at all, so to call it a "business tax" is a bit of a misnomer.

Obama's expensive and ambitious package of federal spending and tax cuts is designed to revive the economy and save or create 3.5 million or more jobs.

"This legislation is good for growth, good for jobs, good for working and middle class families, and good for businesses looking to invest and expand their work force," said Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner

“For one year, any business, large or small, can write off the full cost of most of their capital investments. This will make it more affordable for businesses like Thompson Creek to expand and hire.
So, if you’re a business owner, I’d encourage you to take advantage of this temporary provision. It will save you money today and help you grow your business tomorrow.”

2012...........Obama pushes to extend payroll tax cut into 2012

"Let your members of Congress know where you stand," Obama said Saturday in his weekly radio and Internet address. "Tell them not to vote to raise taxes on working Americans during the holidays. Tell them to put country before party. Put money back in the pockets of working Americans. Pass these tax cuts."
Obama also took note of a new monthly jobs report out Friday that showed the economy added 120,000 jobs in November, a positive number. "We need to keep this growth going and strengthen it," the president said.

You Are too much of a pinworm to respond to, except insult. It I want to hit my head against a stone wall, I have one here at home. My intelligences is wasted on you, as is Onceler's and Darla's.

It depends on how it is applied. Let's say you have an ability to take off 100,000 rather than 25,000 for buying equipment. If you spend that extra 75,000 you are buying stuff that people make (jobs), deliver (jobs), package (jobs)... all of that drives demand, which creates the business, which makes you able to buy more equipment...

It's an awesome cycle.

If you, however, decide to take that $25,000 in write offs and drop it to $5,000 because you think that "tax breaks" are bad, it has an opposite effect.

It's been over a decade since Bush promised jobs when he pushed for tax cuts.

Where are they?

In 2001, the Bush administration inherited a few years' worth of budget surpluses, so it decided to cut income tax rates, double the child-care credit, and sharply reduce the levies on investment income.

The economy then slowed, even entering a brief recession.

As a form of stimulus, the administration doubled down, expanding and hastening the 2001 changes.

Bush promised that the tax cuts would do a whole lot more than put money in people's pockets—which, in fact, they did.

He said they would "starve the beast," forcing Congress to reduce the size and scope of government. He promised they would increase the prosperity of all Americans.

He also vowed: "Tax relief will create new jobs. Tax relief will generate new wealth. And tax relief will open new opportunities."

Where are the jobs?

I guess its futile, but here are the facts,....again.

Bush cut taxes in 2001 and again in 2003 and 2006....which enabled the economy to sustain an average of 5.3% unemployment rate from 2001 to 2008.....In spite of losing Congress to the

Democrats, WTC attacks, and 2 wars......

Bush proposed his tax plan was to be TEMPORARY and in fact, the BUSH tax cuts ended in DECEMBER, 2008 along with his presidency....they had done the job they were meant

to do.

=================================================================================

Obama was elected and became POTUS in January, 2009 and signed legislation that prevented the Bush Tax Plan from expiring as it was mean to.....todays taxes

are what they are because of Obama.....
The Bush Tax Plan ended in December 2008 along with the Bush's term.

Bravs, I know you slept through history, but you need to go back & look at what Bush and his admin promised w/ the tax cuts.

They didn't deliver. By a long, long shot.
