Taking advantage of tragedy

Sarah Palin is pro gun and hunts in real life. It was just not appropriate to bring her voter campaign map into play when there was absolutely NO evidence to support a connection to the shooter. I agree that the hate has to stop. Her map was not hateful. It can be argued it was in bad taste-but the people who took advantage of this tragedy to promote their anti Palin stuff only adds to the partisan hackery. The Tea Party have committed no violence. The media and internet rhetoric that drives Tea Party hatred has no place in civil debate. I personally know many people who are Tea Party supporters and they are not at all hateful; violent; or supportive of violence.

This young man was an anti God; anti government disturbed individual. There is nothing that connects him to the Tea Party or to Sarah Palin...and yet that is EXACTLY where bfgrn; kenneth; jarod; and mojo the troll took this to...then of course the passive agressive lefties like christifan jumped on board of that band wagon!

I dont belvie it was intended to be hatefull.... but it was reckless and illresponsable.

Actions have consiquences.

“Sarah Palin has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district and when people do that, they’ve gotta realize there are consequences to that action.”
Rep. Gabrielle Gifford

I called on Palin to take this type of ad down 6 months ago, she did not take it down till today!

I don't think Palin and her dumbass map have anything to do with this shooting. Having said that, tragedies like this make clear that using violent imagery like Palin did is fucking stupid. I don't think it is "taking advantage of tragedy" to point that out.

And there's absolutely no evidence that Teabaggers have ever expressed threats and acted on them with violence, is there?

The attempt at connecting Palin's map with this lunatic is rather pitiful.

We have had a War On Drugs and a War on Poverty. Does any actually think the USArmy was involved in either one?

Numerous sports writers wrote concerning the Crimson Tide's need to "reload on defense". Does anyone here think Nick Saban is loading guns at UA?

Talks right now in Washington discuss targeting debt and wasteful spending. Does anyone think there is a sniper aiming at our debt?

Palin's map is just political rhetoric.

Both religion and government are tools of illuminati control, however, violence is not an acceptable tool for social change.

No it was NOT. It was a campaign gimmick that to date has caused NO ONES FUCKING DEATH...and yet assholes such as yourself took this tragedy and attempted to hang it around Palin's neck!

You are a lazy hateful faux intellectual~

How many of those blaming Palin ever joined in the "When will someone assasinate Bush?" rhetoric?

That sort of talk was rampant during George W's time in the White House. But it seems to be conveniently forgotten now.

This scum sounds like a mentally ill loser. No one put him up to it. He is responsible for his own actions.

My God, this congenital idiot has a Ph.D in Stupidi.T. I wrote two posts (below) and in one I specifically stated I DON"T BLAME [Palin] HER. Obviously written English is orders of magnitude above her pay grade.

"I've always detested the use of violent imagery, period. There's a better way of showing the people you want to defeat besides using a picture of crosshairs. And saying it's about voting, not shooting, is a cop-out. If it's about voting, show a picture of a ballot with an "X" on it, or something similar.

"I don't blame her for this one person's actions. But neither do I credit her (or anyone) for using violent imagery and/or language re: the defeat of her political foes because you never know what nut out there is going to take that as an invitation to act."

There's plenty of blame to go around when it comes to talk about killing one's political foes. Such as:

Rush Limbaugh: "I tell people don’t kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus -- living fossils -- so we will never forget what these people stood for."

Ann Coulter: "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building."

Or: "We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed too."

Bill O’Reilly: “Everybody got it? Dissent, fine; undermining, you're a traitor. Got it? So, all those clowns over at the liberal radio network, we could incarcerate them immediately. Will you have that done, please? Send over the FBI and just put them in chains, because they, you know, they're undermining everything and they don't care, couldn't care less.”

Karl Rove: “Has there ever been a more revealing moment this year? Let me just put this in fairly simple terms: Al Jazeera now broadcasts the words of Senator Durbin to the Mideast, certainly putting our troops in greater danger. No more needs to be said about the motives of liberals.”

Kathleen Parker: “Here's a note I got recently from a friend and former Delta Force member, who has been observing American politics from the trenches: ‘These bastards like Clark and Kerry and that incipient ass, Dean, and Gephardt and Kucinich and that absolute mental midget Sharpton, race baiter, should all be lined up and shot.’ "

Sharron Angle...a statement she made during a radio interview last January in which she floated the idea that the public would bring down an out-of-control Congress with "Second Amendment remedies."

You know, you are right. This guy just listened to talk radio and watched Fox News. He is not responsible for what he did. He is just a poor victim of Palin's map. He thought she was ordering him to kill people. Those were obviously rifle scopes and that means she is secretly ordering her minions to kill people. Of course, why didn't I see that before? He was just following orders.

I guess we should prosecute Limbaugh, Hannity, Palin, and the rest for war crimes against the USA.
