Superbowl LI (that means 51 in Roman numeral talk)

Some say the Pats have the best offense in the NFL, and that the Falcons have the best defense.

It may be a little more complicated than that.

Can a high-scoring game subordinate the defensive capabilities on the field?

What do you think the final score will be?

Which team would you prefer to win?

Do you watch the half-time show?

And what about the commercials?
Will you watch?
Will you DVR?

Anything in particular you'll be scanning them for? Sponsor ID? Theme? Current political relevance?

Janet Jackson got an appearance summons (aka "traffic ticket") last week. She had a headlight out.

No one says the Falcons have the best defense - they actually have one of the worst. They do have one of the best offenses though.

It's 2 really good offenses and a couple of middlin' defenses (though some think NE's defense is better than it is). Every time anyone expects a shoot-out in the Superbowl, it never seems to pan out, so my prediction is as follows:

Patriots: 24
Falcons: 20

Commercials were terrible last year. Hoping for better this time. Looking forward to Gaga.

You obviously don't shoot smack in the same homeless shelters I do.

Yes.
I've seen predictions for a high-scoring game. That might be nice.

On commercials:
there's one in particular that is an interesting confluence.
It reportedly has an immigrant theme, & is lavishly costumed, etc. I'll be interested in that one.

The irony in that is, the cliche' is, we watch the program, and take our wee wee breaks during the commercials.
But SB commercial aficionados "go" during the game, so they don't miss the commercials.

It exists to deliver audiences to advertisers.' a top CBS-TV executive CBS CBS Executive

Well, sometimes I cheer on for one team or another, sometimes I really want one team to win, but when all is said and done I just really love a good game where both teams play well and you have no idea which way it will go until the end; I love the suspense.

As far as which team has a better offense or defense I have no idea, I don't 'follow' sports statistics.

I've always liked the Patriots in general so I'm cheering for them this year.

I watch the commercials on youtube, during the broadcast commercial breaks are for having a smoke and taking a piss.

Half-time show depends on who it is, this year? Hell no.

I think I saw a stat that the pats have beaten the spread like almost every game except a couple this season. We are constantly underestimated/people bet against us cause they hate us

The thing about the pats is that while on paper our D might look middling, we always seem to make the correct adjustments for the teams we are playing.

In 2013, the Colts beat both the Seahawks and the Broncos. This season, the Seahawks beat both the Patriots and the Falcons (BUT SHERMAN CHEATED BY INTERFERING WITH JULIO ON THAT 3rd & 10 PLAY!!!). I'd say that bodes well for you, somehow.

Thanks.
Yes. Chris Wallace interviewed the Pat's owner, and he explained his decades long friendship with Trump.

I don't like Brady.
And I totally dug the SB when the Giants beat the Pats, and %$#@ off Belecheck so bad he refused to shake hands the Giants coach after the game was over.

Go New York !

Steady.

"Put your $money where your mouth is"

Which team a fan supports is not necessarily as interesting as why.

I support Atlanta because:
- I don't like Brady

- I suspect officially or not the Pats are the favorites, and therefore the Falcons the underdogs, &

- I tend to enjoy games where there are lots of lead changes.

You would think right?! I mean I HATE the Patriots and I sure as hell am not going to start rooting for them because these guys may be Republicans.

I would NEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVER support the Cheatriots. EVER.

Even if they were playing the Cravens.

What a bunch of whiny retards. There are plenty of conservatives who know where Paul Allen stands politically, but wouldn't consider ditching the Seahawks.

i have explained why this is many times, and it comes down to culture privilege. Conservatives are used to growing up in a world where the school system, the arts, their favorite musicians, movies all parrot the opposite view. Liberals don't have that experience due to culture privilege and thus are very bad at compartmentalizing.
