And if this is true then the Rs are only responsible for the first bailout in the fact that not enough of them were obstructionists while it was being passed.

I don't think the comparison of the Iraq War vote is fairly applied, though I understand your reason for trying to illuminate the double standard.

The Iraq War vote was affirmed by numerous democrats because they believed that Saddam posed a real threat, not because, as so many ninny dems attempt to claim that they were fooled, tricked, or strong armed into doing so.

The reason a bipartisan vote is desired is to build confidence for the bill and of course to share responsibility if it fails. I am certain that the voters who put republicans into office do not want them voting for this bill as it is written. Let's see what they choose to do.

grasping a bit there?
I have not been for either of the finiancial industry bailouts.

I was vocally against the first one if you will recall. As I think you were.
I have always been for a bottom up rebuilding of America.
That is why I support many parts of the burrent bailout bill than republicans all call pork becuase it is bypassing the finiancial industry.
without a firm foundation nothing will long last.

I'm not speaking to what you are "for" or "against" but how you apply logic.

You said the "Rs voted for the bailout", yet the majority of them did not vote that way.

I am stating categorically that this is an example of partisan memory lack. Where a person who tells me that the Ds didn't vote for the war because a majority didn't vote for it although quite a few did, suddenly can't remember saying that majorities count for things when it comes to bailouts.
