Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) says he is preparing legislation to feature President Trump on a new $250 bill.

“Grateful to announce that I am drafting legislation to direct the Bureau of Graving and Printing to design a $250 bill featuring Donald J. Trump,” Wilson wrote in a Tuesday post on X with a mock-up of the proposed bill.

Current laws prevent a living person from appearing on U.S. currency.

Despite the contradiction with federal law, Wilson said he wants to honor the president for his financial policies, drawing a contrast to the previous administration.

“Bidenflation has destroyed the economy forcing American families to carry more cash. Most valuable bill for most valuable President,” he wrote.

The Republican-controlled Congress has already shown a wave of support for the president, including a proposal to allow Trump to seek a third term in office, which is forbidden by the Constitution, and a bill seeking to add his likeness to the Mount Rushmore Monument. :whoa:

$100 is a small amount to be the biggest bill in today's inflated money
considering that there used to be thousand dollar and five hundred dollar bills
when I was a kid and the dollar was worth MUCH more.

Trump, of course, is a bad joke for a prospect,
but Obama seems like a natural choice once he leaves us,
hopefully not too soon.

I doubt it. The whole idea of digital currency and its attraction is that it is not at the mercy of faceless bureaucrats making bad monetary decisions.
