I am currently listening to MacGregor basically call Prigozin almost a God Damn patriot who was trying to get Putins attention that now is the time to strike hard militarily and end this problem of Ukraine. Now this is certainly at odds with what Putin said in his address to the nation.
What made him back down is that he got zero support in Russia and there was about to be a lot of dead Wagner...the Chechens were hunting them.....massively out numbered them....and are brutal fucks.

Pregozin is a hero for what Wagner did in Bakhmut, he was expecting a lot of support in part because a lot of Russians agree with him that now is the time to finish it. But Putin a slow and careful hand for one thing, another is that Pregozin only sees the Ukraine battlefield/problem, when Putin knows that Russia and others (China) are fighting a bigger more important war....the war to end Western power. Keeping this war going bleeds a dying West by the hour.
