The Chinese Yuan briefly surpassed a Dollar in global reserve currencies.... Just not the Dollar you would think of. The Yuan briefly surpassed the CANADIAN Dollar, but now is below the CANADIAN Dollar. It is between the Canadian Dollar and the Australian Dollar, in sixth place in the world. It has 2.3% of the reserve currencies, and falling quickly.
Meanwhile, Yuan peaked against the US Dollar in 2014. To remain competitive, the Chinese have slowly devalued their currency against the Dollar for a decade now. It is now worth 16% less in terms of Dollars.
