Single payer passes in California!

Corporations luv when the gov't foots the bill. It's practically the definition of Robber Baron.

Ok. I posted the article of the CBO report. Like I said, good luck if this gets to the voters

Kinda' like what was said about the ACA.

There is no rational reason why the richest nation on earth can't do what even poor nations can afford to do. NONE.

The cost is the size of our entire state budget. California just can't print money like the federal gov't can. Where is this money going to come from?

Senate at least.

Under a single-payer plan, the government replaces private insurance companies, paying doctors and hospitals for healthcare.

The California Nurses Assn., ....sponsored the bill.... :)

The heading of this thread is a lie; if the libTards in Sacramento pass this massive tax and debt creating fiasco, it will cause a groundswell of support for Republicans.

So I say pass it Party of the Jackals. Pass it ASAP.

Dear low information liberal liar; no nation can afford it which is why they tax their citizens at extortionist rates and LIMIT access through long waiting times and limited doctors hours and pay.

Why on earth is this even shocking to anyone?

Health care is not free. Of course we do not have money in the current budget to pay for it. We would have to do what ever other civilized country on the planet does: raise state taxes to pay for it. By 15 percent according to the study below.

I will take that deal every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Because, if I had to trade off the outrageous amount I pay for premiums every month to a private insurance company in exchange for a 15 percent increase on my state taxes, I am pretty sure it would be a net wash and I would actually come out ahead on the deal.

Universal health plan would save Californians $37 billion annually, study says

SACRAMENTO — *As the California Senate considers voting this week on a proposal to replace private health insurance with a statewide health plan that covers everyone, the bill’s main backers on Wednesday heralded a new study that says the plan could save Californians $37.5 billion annually in health care spending — even after adding the state’s nearly 3 million uninsured.

The favorable findings by economists at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, comes a week after a Senate committee released eye-popping estimates that threatened to dampen enthusiasm for the bill. The committee’s analysis projected that the statewide plan would cost $400 billion annually, half of which would likely need to come from workers and businesses through a 15 percent payroll tax.

I'm amused that you continue to believe that you can have a rational debate with low intelligence liberals who think everything is FREEEEeeeee.
