should we send foriegn countries money or use it here to help Americans?

If we can help other countries why do we have to sit by and watch cities like Detroit just sink into despair?

none in particular, other then what i posted.

There was some talk about "baselining" foreign aid - instead of just routinely passing a package.
Problem with that is Congress would have to be more proactive, and less reactive - a near impossible lift.
 
The right in this country hates half of the American people.

Its why they do things like hold up disaster aid to places they DONT LIKE.

lot's of cities have budget problems, if not to Detroits extent.

Detroit is too big -it's landmass is designed for 2M people, and it's population is about 800,000.

sell off some of that land.
 
I don't see why we can't both give foreign aid AND also help out here at home.

We need to have influence in the world; foreign aid is one of the ways we do that.

We also need to take care of our people here at home.

Balancing the two is always the issue.

From the linked article, I found the section "Development assistance as a percent of GNP" interesting - US is on the low side there.

I don't think we should do either. I would cut 100% of foreign aid. Fuck em.

As for Detroit? Fuck them too. They created their mess let them live with it. Detroit has been ruled by liberal democrats for 50 years yet they have the nerve to claim it is right wing policies that have caused its collapse. Talk about cognitive dissonance.

Of course BAC admits that once the white folk moved out that only left the blacks and then it was all down hill from there
