Should public broadcasting receive any more federal funding?

While we're at it, can a nation mired in debt afford nonessential spending on public broadcasting while so many dire needs are underfunded?

Cutting this unneeded burden on the treasury will not, by itself, solve our deficit crisis, but will serve as a start.
