should political contributions be anonymous

should political contributions over $1000 be anonymous

If I want to say something negative about a candidate there is nothing you can do to stop me. If I want to say it to millions of people then I need a political ad on television. That costs money. Political ad = speech. Political ad = x dollars. Therefore Speech = Dollars. There is no other way for me to get my message across effectively.

There may be a very generalized logic to that, but nothing more than a broadview.

If you weigh in the practical implications, pretty much everything you just said flies in the face of the country the founders envisioned.

So, we can have money as speech, or the vision of the founders. Let's see - money as speech, or the vision of the founders...which'll it be...

Such a tough one.

Inane.

1. The Chamber of Commerce has some (actually few) foreign members, from which they collect just over $100,000.
2. Their annual budget includes sequestering of funds.
3. Just like unions, the chamber of commerce protects the little guy (small business). Since when did the little guy banding together against the big guns equal bad to the Democrats? (IMO, too early, it won't take long for people to find out the truth and get the information out.)
4. If this is your "October Surprise" and this is the best you can do... well, that's just sad.

money is a fiction that most of us have agreed to pretend is not a fiction

Just tried walking out of my local corner market telling the owner that money is fiction and that I wasn't going to pay. Didn't go so well. Any other suggestions for how I can get things for free?

This is bullshit damo. The chamber of commerce is totally sold out to big multinationals.
