shining example of Liberal policies on humanitarianism

http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2011/03/15/san-francisco-police-begin-enforcing-sitlie-law/

San Francisco police officers have started enforcing the city’s new ban on sitting and lying on the sidewalk.

In November, voters approved the sit/lie law, which makes it illegal to hang out on San Francisco sidewalks between 7 am and 11 pm.

“The cops said that the first time, we get admonished. And then after that, they’ll start filling out tickets,” he said. “They only have a select few that they’re going to choose to do that with.”

Those tickets will start at $50 and could escalate to $500 or even jail time.

so much for all that empathy on the homeless situation

This has been a huge controversy locally. It was passed by voters during the past election. We have a huge homeless problem and this law was really focused on Haight St (aka hippie central) where a bunch of punk kids would hang out on the streets and harass shoppers and home owners. No matter how liberal one might be when they pay $800k for a home and a bunch of punk kids are sitting on their front doorsteps harassing people, including them, they turn more conservative real quickly.

Thanks for the confession, even though it was unintentional...LOL

cawacko is an unemployed drunk living in his ex-mother-in-laws station wagon. What exactly did he admit to again supertard?

That when you arrest and punish the homeless, and have no empathy for them, you are merely 'turn(ing) more conservative real quickly'

If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.
President John F. Kennedy

its not about empathy, sympathy or any other thing you blue blooded numb skulls have no idea about and don't practice.

There is a certain pragmatism in reality.

Let me ask you this. Should all homeless people be free to harass whomever they want wherever they want?

Most homeless do not do this mind you, but you seem to want to believe that they should have the right to do so.

Let me ask you this further. What do you do to help the homeless people that need help? Tell me and I'll tell you what I do.

But armchair generalizing from your ivory tower about what should and shouldn't be done because you're too lazy and stupid to recognize that there's two sides is flat lame fool.

And you indeed are a fool.

Please tell me about Jesus Christ's 'pragmatism'

Matthew 25:34-40
The Final Judgment

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

jesus can dig his own dirt fool. I didn't ask you about what Jesus thought.

Stop quoting others to speak for you and speak for your damned self.

I did, grow some balls and follow suit.

What do you do to help the homeless? And don't give me some quote from a religious figure, a dead politician or a civil rights activist to speak for you. You tell ME what you do.

Because I'll tell you this much, quotes from dead people don't put food on a homeless man's plate. So step up. What do YOU do?

I can tell you what everyone can do and that's NOT voting for people who campaign on cutting social programs. Devote less than one hour (approximate waiting time at a polling booth) once every four years. That's 15 minutes a year. 1.25 minutes or 75 seconds per month. Or a little over 2 seconds per day. Is that too much to ask?

Only if making homelessness a crime is 'practical'

As I figured you misread or purposefully misinterpreted what I wrote. Homelessness has long been a problem in SF. Homeless people aren't dumb, SF gives the most generous benefits so the homeless come from all over the Bay Area to camp here.

However the real genesis for sit and lie rule (as I wrote) was on Haight St. Yes the Haight St of Haight/Ashburry of the Grateful Dead. This is hippy central in SF. Punk kids from the City and from outside the City would come in during the day and start harassing people on Haight St. They would harass shoppers and home owners. They would try and take over sidewalks and peoples front doorsteps. Finally even people in good ole liberal SF got fed up with these kids behavior.

So this is not about punishing the homeless. If that was the case a bill like this would have been passed years ago. It is about going after (non homeless) punk teenagers that were threatening a lot of people.

So sorry but you are way off my friend.

why do liberals constantly quote and often misquote jesus in debates as some kind of counter? how fucking stupid can you be. not all cons are christians, and they scream bloody murder when cons want to introduce christian ideals into politics, yet they turn around and demand cons answer political issues with

WWJD

I wold have to ask, what is meant by harass? Asking them for money? I would like to see stats on these homeless, are they addicts, mentally ill? Or just those lazy bums that harass people who live in $800,000 homes
