A Los Angeles man has been charged with murdering his son for being gay, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said Friday.

Shehada Khalil Issa, 69, was arrested Tuesday after police responding to 911 calls at the family's home discovered the body of Issa's wife and his 29-year-old son, Amir Issa.

The felony complaint includes a special allegation that Issa "personally and intentionally" shot his son "because of his sexual orientation."

It is "alleged that the murder was committed because of the victim's sexual orientation and because of the defendant's perception of that status and the victims' association with a person and a group of that status," a statement from the district attorney's office said.

Prosecutors said Issa had allegedly threatened to kill his son on prior occasions because he was gay, according to the D.A.'s statement.

Issa faces one count of willful, deliberate and premeditated murder. The investigation into his wife's death is ongoing.

He is being held without bail. If convicted, he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The body of Issa’s mother, Rabihah Issa, was also found with apparent stab wounds. Investigators found her covered with blood in the bathroom of the house and noted that she appeared to have been dead “for a while,” LAPD Sergeant Greg Bruce told the Los Angeles Times. The investigation into her death is still ongoing.

On March 19, a Facebook user identified by multiple news outlets as Amir Issa wrote a post that paints a chilling picture of his home life.

“Every day I wake up feeling like my sister or brother or mother or father is literally controlling me in my sleep,” Issa wrote. “I have no free will.” He also alleged that his relatives stole money from him and tried to have him imprisoned and said he wants to “see Jesus.”

How come Muslims would want someone to "see Jesus"? :dunno:

Guess I shouldn't be surprised although that t-shirt didn't look believable. And it appears the family is Christian. I've read some more articles on the killing. The son seemed to be mentally ill.

"Amir also posted a video to his Facebook page in which he interrogates his parents about whether they had performed certain sex acts.

"That's not appropriate for a child to ask his parents," Rabihah Issa says to the camera as she sits on the sofa, a large crucifix on the wall behind her."

I certainly can't take what he says at face value. This thread is an example of duplicitous posting, yet not a single con except Right has taken issue with it, have they?

Stay on topic, or this thread will be moved to the war zone, where you will find all threads that devolve to back and forth insults.
