Seriously, Why Do the Republicans Not Want a Protestant on the Supreme Court?

Walt

Back To Reality
The current Supreme Court has 7 Catholics and 2 Jews. Since 1990, there has been various numbers of Catholics and Jews, but no Protestants. It has been over 30 years since there has been even one Protestant on the Supreme Court. Protestants make up either a majority, or a strong plurality of Americans (depending on how you count them), so why no representation on the Supreme Court?

Biden finally had the guts to nominate a Protestant for the Supreme Court... And almost every Republican votes against her?

What is the problem Republicans have with Protestants?

Repukes are simply the enemy from within that are at war against America and its moral character at being prostitutes of foreign enemies, while waging war on Democracy and the common decency of civilization on Earth on the taxpayer dime, etc.

It sure looks like your entire purpose here is to muddy the waters by spreading Bull Shit.

It's not 'Protestant'. It's because she is a female Negress. Moscow Mitch shits pants.

"In an interview with Politico, the Senate minority leader was asked if he would “mount a blockade” should a vacancy arise with Republicans holding the Senate and Democrats the White House."

"“Cross those bridges when I get there, we are focusing on 22,” McConnell told Politico, referring to the midterm elections in a variation on a theme with which he has already infuriated liberals, saying it was “highly unlikely” he would let Biden confirm a justice in 2024, the year of the next presidential contest."

Did you know that in the entire history of the Supreme Court, there has never been a Black spouse of a Supreme Court Justice... I do not know if that is important, but it is a fact.

I do have to wonder why the majority religion has not been represented at all in 30 years of the Supreme Court. That seems significant, but probably not to me.

Ms. Brown Jackson is not a Catholic.

Why did Sen. Graham grill Ketanji Brown Jackson about her religious faith?

"As a nondenominational Protestant, Jackson, if confirmed, will join a court that is currently composed entirely of Catholics and Jews — groups that make up only 23 percent of the general population. The Senate hasn’t confirmed a Protestant to the court since 1990.

"Does this mean that the public should expect Jackson to make different decisions than her non-Protestant peers? My research suggests no. Federal judges’ personal religious affiliations don’t much influence how they decide cases about religion."

My guess is that they're afraid of mainstream Protestants, who tend to be less dogmatic (esp. about abortion) than do many Catholics. Maybe evangelicals don't produce that many Supreme Court-class lawyers?

I think you are starting to get to some of the secrets of why there are no Protestants on the Supreme Court.
