Serious question: Would the actions of Hamas be legal under international law?

Ive been listening to some interviews. Under International Humanitarian Law the occupied have the duty to resist. For the sake of argument lets just assume Gaza is occupied as thats what most international law advocates say. I cant find any restrictions on the right to resist as South Africa and other colonial countries engaged in terrorism in their liberation struggles all the time.

Given that theres no limit to the right to resist wouldnt that make the actions of Hamas legal while if Israel strikes back using the methods that they did it would be illegal and a war crime?

The things they have done would not comply with the Geneva Convention.

Many Americans believe Israel has a right to abuse Palestinians. It is virtually impossible to have a rational discussion with these people. Which, unfortunately, includes President Biden.

Hamas would be a non state actor though so they would not be bound by the geneva convention.

So fighting a non-state actor would not be bound by the Geneva convention

Is fighting a drug cartel bound by the Geneva convention?

Resisting against an occupying force is hardly the same thing as going to the country that is occupying yours and killing children in the country.

Terrorist organizations have no rights... Not even a right to defend itself

Indeed.

Hamas is on the State Dept. list of terrorist organizations.

Everything they do is illegal.

Especially when they are beheading infants.

Those trying to justify beheadings of infants are evil

And many assholes think Hamas can behead babies and it's quite all fucking right. People who can't utter even one word of disagreement with the actions of Hamas aren't entitled be treated as human.

No one is responsible for their behavior anymore. It's always someone else's fault.

Hamas wouldnt be but then the Gazans officially under "occupation" would.

Occupation? LMFAO. Is anyone required to stay in gaza? I can't think of many hostile "occupiers" who allowed thr local people to leave the land they took over.
