SCOTUS praised for Title 42 border security ruling: 'Huge victory'

Life is Golden

A Supreme Court ruling on Tuesday on Title 42 sent shock-waves across Twitter with many users praising the outcome.

The Supreme Court ruled to maintain Title 42, a Trump-era policy that allows immigration officials to quickly expel migrants for public health due to the coronavirus pandemic. Many Twitter users praised the ruling, suggesting it is critical to ensure America’s borders are properly enforced.

Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs Marsha (Catron) Espinosa said the department will enforce the policy.

California doesn't care about the federal government or Title 42. Business wants cheap labor, and they always get what they want.

Agriculture, packing houses, restaurants, construction, will all suffer because of Title 42.

We can't afford open borders and don't need to take on the dregs of other societies. People are barely making it here for themselves, they can't pay to take on more illegals.

Actually, construction suffers because of the use of illegals. They often do shit work. They work fast, will try to hide mistakes, do sloppy work, and in general do substandard construction.

Absolutely True. Fast workers, nice people generally,....but horrid workmanship. Shit work for the most part.

I'm reporting what I see in California. The state caterers to illegal workers. They don't strike or refuse overtime. There are more illegal workers in the unemployment office than there are Californians. Ask me how I know.

I can always tell when illegals do electrical work. You find electrical tape on everything. Nicked wires, over wire nuts, covering improper strip lengths, etc. Good electrical work should not have any electrical tape on it with a few exceptions like insulating split bolts on larger wiring.

"SCOTUS’s temporary stay of Title 42 protections will forestall a surge of trafficking and drugs.

Idiots

We've both seen it. There was a time I got paid $35 an hour to go around and fix all that crap. The contractor gets paid for what's built, they don't care how much it cost to fix it afterwards.

As they say... Can't see it from my house! or You break it, we fix it! We break it, we're sorry... :awesome:

Out here we have million-dollar trac houses with tall round towers and elaborate staircases. If there are 10 staircases to build, the first one is guaranteed mine, then they call in a bunch of illegals to copy my work on the other 9.

So I guess the apocalypse due to immigration the right has been selling for close to fifteen years now is upon us, shoddy electrical work, not M13 gangsters taking over, not al-Qaeda nor ISIS sneaking in, nor Ebola and Covid carriers, etc., but lousy electrical work

Best way, if you know what you're looking at, for a new construction home you are buying is to show up everyday after knock off and inspect the work. Turn in photos and code quotes, etc., to the developer. On Friday about half an hour before the crews are to end the work day, show up at your house with a trash can full of iced beer and a bunch of tacos off a good food truck.
The workers become your best friend and try hard to do stuff right, and they'll even toss in extras unasked, while the developer and GC hate you for the rest of your life. Your house gets done right...

Or hire Union workers

California is a state. It is businesses in every state that want cheap labor. Trump availed himself of it happily for decades. Many businesses set up near the border to use cheap labor that they could cheat.

I didn't see if title 42 effects software engineers and other tech jobs coming from South Asia to work for half the price or less than American tech workers demand.
