The Donbass is 39%Russian. There are more Ukrainians in the Donbass than Russians.

This is why the Donbas war started in 2014, because Ukraine was trying to suppress them which ultimately led to Putin invading to stop the bloodshed.

Russia is not conducting a full scale invasion for conquest.

They retook the regions in the east comprised of Russian people.

When the Soviet Union disbanded in 1991 a large part of Russia was incorporated into Ukraine.

Ukranian's are not Russians, it's a big ethnic conflict, think of Palestinians being incorporated into Israel.

Those russian's never wanted to be part of Ukraine and the Ukranian's treated them poorly, racism and discrimination, even going to war with them killing thousands of them.

29 times Putin organized a ceasefire to stop the bloodshed and every time Ukraine broke it.

Putin had no choice but to enter Ukraine to stop the killing.
