Female drivers and female customers. Of course this is blatant sex discrimination just like the ubiquitous affirmative action is. But this too will no doubt be allowed and even trumpeted as a way to FIGHT discrimination!!!

jan 30 2017 A ride-hailing company for women by women called Safr has launched in Boston—but will it be able to withstand legal challenges of discrimination?

Safr (originally named "Chariot for Women") was founded last year by Michael Pelletz, a former Uber driver, as a response to repeated stories in the media of assaults, sexual assaults, and kidnappings by male Uber drivers. Taking men out of the equation may be one way to make women feel more comfortable requesting rides from strangers, and it also makes female drivers feel more safe picking up late night calls from rowdy passengers exiting bars or clubs. Safr uses only female drivers who have passed a thorough background check, and will pick up its female-only customers (and presumably their children or guests).

The company's legality is up for debate, however. Few people would argue that a female-only service is a good way to ensure the safety of women, but it's not the only means for a ride-hailing company to go about preventing harassment, assault, or other violence.

As a business owner I think it's one hell of an idea. It's a niche' waiting to be filled. Uber is getting some heat now. Lyft is taking off. I really think this concept will work.

We had an uptick in rapes in New York City over the past few years and being a nice progressive city nobody wants to discuss what's the driving the increase.

It's a lethal combination of kumbaya mid-west hipster girls relocating to the low-rent districts in big city determined to prove to themselves that all of the inner city denizens are as lovely neighbors as she had back in Duluth, Minnesota.

Sadly, too many take great risks, wander out of clubs intoxicated, and find out the hard way that simply isn't the case.

A woman was raped by her cab driver in Brooklyn early Saturday morning, police said.
According to the NYPD the 29-year-old woman hailed a cab, a red minivan, around 3 a.m. in Kensington and took it to her apartment in Sunset Park. When the cab arrived at the woman's apartment, the driver took out a knife and demanded that the victim give him money.
After the victim handed over cash, the driver got into the back of the car and forcibly raped her before fleeing in an unknown direction. A NYPD spokesperson told Gothamist that the department does not know what car service, if any, the driver was affiliated with.
The victim reported the incident at the 68th Precinct station house.
Police described the driver as approximately 20 to 25 years old. The NYPD's Brooklyn Special Victims Unit is investigating the situation, and the investigation is ongoing

Police are looking for a livery cab driver believed to have raped a 35-year-old woman who flagged down his car in Brooklyn last week.
Authorities say the victim hailed the cabbie's SUV in East Flatbush around 5 a.m. Tuesday. She was raped inside the vehicle and managed to escape near East 95th Street and Avenue B, where she flagged down another cab and, in tears, asked the driver for help, according to the driver and police.
"She sit in the van. I asked her what happened. I see she crying, you know, so I asked what happened," said the driver, who asked to be called only by his first name, Francis. "She tell me, 'I got raped.'"
Francis said he drove the woman to a hospital so she could be treated and file a police report.
He says he hopes someone else will now step forward to help the woman by identifying the man seen in surveillance photos released by police

A 26-year-old woman told cops she was raped by a cab driver after leaving a club in the Meatpacking District in Manhattan, police sources said Wednesday.

The woman said she went to the Hotel Gansevoort at about 10 p.m. Saturday with her friend and that the two were drinking alcohol.

At about 1 a.m., her friend went to the bathroom and couldn’t find her when she returned. The friend looked inside the club for her for about 30 minutes and tried texting her, to no avail.

The victim told cops the next thing she remembered was waking up in the back seat of a taxi in Astoria, Queens, with the driver on top of her having sex with her, the sources said.

“I think something bad happened to me on the cab ride home,” she texted her friend about 3 a.m., according to the sources. “I think I was raped.”

The friend called an Uber cab, picked her up and took her to Woodhull Hospital.

The woman provided cops with the dress and Spanx she was wearing at the time. Police are investigating.

I think I'll start a taxi service where every driver is whatever class you desire.

You want a female driver? We got those.
You want a male driver? We got those.
You want a transgender driver? OK, but it might cost extra. The transgender contractors charge extra. It has to do with them writing off the surgery as a business expense.
