Romney's True Colors At Last

He was a bus driving Bishop?

Just to reiterate, you say that people don't care what a Bishop in their church has to say, and we should equate them with bus drivers. That anything in any story about them that is negative, especially when written 20 years later, is truth and that there is no need to hear his side of the story, because he is no more important than a bus driver... And we think bus drivers should have no say about things that may have happened to them...

I just want to make sure this is what you want to say.

I'm saying that the only reason any of this was made public is that Mitt Romney is running for political office and his position on abortion could potentially impact the lives of hundreds of millions of people. If Mitt were a bus driver, no one would give a shit what he felt about abortion. When Mitt was a bishop, not a candidate for office, the story did not identify him. So saying this is only coming out because of Mitt is running for office is not terribly insightful.

He went to prevent her from having an abortion. That's what he did. You can spin it however the hell you want, but that's what he did.

The odd thing about this particular charge is that the incident was first recounted in 1990 and did not identify Romney by name. It only came out that it was Romney after he lied about being pro-choice in his Senate campaign against Ted Kennedy.

Speaking as a bishop of his Church, I can understand it.....thats a different thing altogether.....

Just as Obama's personal belief that gay marriage is wrong, his political stand on the subject may be all together different.....as so many Democrats (and many Republicans) have announced publicly that personally they would not have an abortion but politically, they protect the rights of others to have one.

but then there is the pesky double standard we have to live with as Conservatives.....

Is it possible to have a political and religious position on a topic that may be different?

Just look at all of the Catholic Democrats that want to kill babies. Give them holy orders, and I suspect some of them might alter their hobbies a bit. :cof1:
