Romney's True Colors At Last

This is a very interesting, and alarming, story. There's been very little doubt that Romney is a fake and a phony, but no one is ever sure what he's faking. Liberals worry he was faking moderate to win a state-wide race in MA, and of course, cons believe he's a RINO.

This really scary story is evidence that it's the liberals, and anyone who cares about the lives of women, who need to worry. On a side note, I had no idea that Eliza Dushku's mom was a Morom feminist and a professor. That's very cool, I love Eliza.

"On the day of the abortion, the couple showed up at the hospital only to be greeted by their bishop, who had shown up, unannounced, to try to prevent her from going through with it, regardless of the fact that a church official with a higher rank than his had already given the okay. The bishop was determined to make his case against the life-saving surgery, and he was a total dick about it. According to a 2007 interview with Dushku, the following exchange occurred,

He said – What do you think you're doing?

She said – Well, we have to abort the baby because I have these blood clots.

And he said something to the effect of – Well, why do you get off easy when other women have their babies?

And she said – What are you talking about? This is a life threatening situation.

And he said – Well what about the life of the baby?

And she said – I have four other children and I think it would be really irresponsible to continue the pregnancy.

The bishop who tried to block that selfish, selfish clotted up woman from saving her own life with a legal medical procedure was one Mitt Romney. The woman he attempted to block did go through with her abortion and lived to see her four teenage children grow up. Her family later left the church.

Yucky story, and surprising, since I always thought Romney payed only lip service to the right on abortion, and didn't really have conviction on the pro-life stance.

Romney is an empty suit in general, but still the most progressive of the Republicans (at least the viable ones). Any court nominee he suggests has to make it past the Senate anyway.

I always thought so too, but it looks like he only paid lip-service to women while running for governor of MA. He's definitely a slimeball.

So in other words, this story is from her perspective and recollection of events and the specific conversation about 20 years prior?

"and he was a total dick about it".... yeah, sounds like a fairly unbiased piece.

Can't imagine why this is coming up now.

Imagine, a story about a woman facing the decision whether to have an abortion or risk her own life going to term with the pregnancy being told from her perspective. What's next, the Diary of Anne Frank told from Anne Frank's perspective?

If this is true, then that is stupid. She has the right to save her own life, even her church takes that position. What a moronic stance... They even left the church, probably over this inanity.

settle down douche bag.... the point was the manner in which the article was written, the 'he went to PREVENT her from having the abortion'... really? I don't suppose he went there to try and see if there was a way to save the life of the child? Do you see the difference? One paints him to be an arrogant asshole, the other trying to save the life of a child.

The 'he said something to the effect of why should you be so lucky?'... yeah... that kind of reeks of politics.

Hope we hear from the people who whine about Shari'ah law and women's rights.

"The Mormon faith officially opposes abortion except in extreme cases, and women who are members of the church and seek an abortion are required to petition church elders for permission. She and her husband petitioned the Church to authorize them to receive the procedure, and a church elder told her and her husband that the procedure looked like unfortunate but unavoidable."

He went to prevent her from having an abortion. That's what he did. You can spin it however the hell you want, but that's what he did.

The 'he said something to the effect of why should you be so lucky?'... yeah... that kind of reeks of politics.

The odd thing about this particular charge is that the incident was first recounted in 1990 and did not identify Romney by name. It only came out that it was Romney after he lied about being pro-choice in his Senate campaign against Ted Kennedy.

LMAO.... that is HER spin on it and the spin the LEFT wants to use.

Again, this is all according to HER. Stating that Romney 'lied' is simply based on HER story. One that magically comes up when he is running for office. Yeah, no politics involved here at all. Tell us Dung... did the story have the same take in 1990?

can't help but notice the article in question is not on Exponent II's website under past articles. Crazy that.

Even odder... the Exponent II website doesn't even mention Judith as the founder as the article states. Hmmmm...

OK. If you want to characterize Romney visiting a woman in the hospital to try to stop her from having an abortion as Romney "trying to save the life of the child" go right ahead.

Romney ran as a pro-choice candidate back then. He isn't a pro-choice candidate any longer. This woman said she had a discussion with Mitt about it and that he told her he was lying about his position. Mitt is free to comment on this any time he wishes. He's running for office and I'm sure can get a minute or two with an enterprising young journalist.

And of course it comes up when he's running for office. No one gives a shit about Mitt Romney the bus driver's position on abortion.

He was a bus driving Bishop?

Just to reiterate, you say that people don't care what a Bishop in their church has to say, and we should equate them with bus drivers. That anything in any story about them that is negative, especially when written 20 years later, is truth and that there is no need to hear his side of the story, because he is no more important than a bus driver... And we think bus drivers should have no say about things that may have happened to them...

I just want to make sure this is what you want to say.

Like I said, I know you are going to believe the spin the way it was written given your partisan hackery. My point was that the wording deliberately makes it look harsh to try and influence voters.

Thanks for admitting this is just a partisan hit piece. That is all.
