RIP Robert Duvall

Passed away at 95 I really liked his acting career. He was in Open Range with Kevin Costner it is one of my favorite modern western. Rest in Peace job well done.
I liked Duvall ever since The Godfather. The best part is Hollyweird couldn't get him to wear a wig.

Travel on, Lt. Colonel Kilgore.

Smart folk are saying AI means the end of Hollyweird. I don't watch movies or series like most of Western culture but I'll stop watching completely once it's all AI.

When Wayne won an Academy award for his role he said if he had known wearing an eye patch would win him an academy award he would have worh one a long time before.

Getting on and riding a horse at Wayne's age and weight is risky, especially in The Cowboys. I lived in Belle Fourche for a few months (where the Cowboys were headed to sell their cattle). It made me want to buy a horse or Harley until I realized it snows in August. Belle Fourche is said to be the center of the North American continent. I like trivia, what can I say?

Nah, for all the films Wayne was in he only acted in three; Searchers, Red River, and True Grit. Take out the Quiet Man, El Dorado, StageCoach (largely because it was his first), and a few of the John Ford films and he could have mailed it the other hundred or so

I never liked Bruce Dern after he shot John Wayne in the back! Wayne filmed The Sons of Katie Elder just months after having a partial pneumonectomy. He was pretty tough. He had a pig valve put into his heart. Johnny Carson ask how he was feeling. Wayne said pretty good but on rainy days he wanted to wallow in the mud.

The Sons of Katie Elder and the Man that Killed Liberty Valence were pretty good too.

I never liked John Wayne, horrible actor, never served in WWII and he was a racist.
