It is amazing to think that Foxconn employs over 1.2 million people and produces 40% of the world's electronics.
Last week, Foxconn, the largest Chinese private manufacturer, was forced to close their Taiyuan factory after police had to be called to stop a riot involving some of their 79,000 workers. Foxconn, as many of you know, is the main manufacturer in China of the iPhone, the iPad, several Apple computers, and also builds complete systems for Dell, Acer, HP, and other international computer vendors.
The company employs over 1.2 million people and is responsible for 40 percent of the world’s electronics. Consequently, any major disruption to Foxconn doesn't just affect Foxconn, but will reverberate across the entire supply chain for electronic equipment.
