In whatever role he would end up in, in a Trump White House (it sounds like transition leaders say they have no plans to make him HHS Secretary, or any position that requires congress approval of appointment).

Now this is one thing I could get behind, were Trump to win and actually give Kennedy a role like he says.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says Donald Trump would push to remove fluoride from drinking water

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a prominent proponent of debunked public health claims whom Donald Trump has promised to put in charge of health initiatives, said Saturday that Trump would push to remove fluoride from drinking water on his first day in office.

Fluoride strengthens teeth and reduces cavities by replacing minerals lost during normal wear and tear, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The addition of low levels of fluoride to drinking water has long been considered one of the greatest public health achievements of the last century.

Kennedy made the declaration on the social media platform X alongside a variety of claims about the heath effects of fluoride.

“On January 20, the Trump White House will advise all U.S. water systems to remove fluoride from public water,” Kennedy wrote. Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, “want to Make America Healthy Again,” he added, repeating a phrase Trump often uses and links to Kennedy.

It was not clear if Kennedy discussed Saturday’s post with Trump or his aides. The Trump campaign did not answer directly, and a spokesperson for Kennedy did not respond when asked.

“While President Trump has received a variety of policy ideas, he is focused on Tuesday’s election,” Danielle Alvarez, Trump campaign senior advisor, said.

But the sudden and unexpected weekend social media post evoked the chaotic policymaking that defined Trump’s White House tenure, when he would issue policy declarations on Twitter at virtually all hours. It also underscored the concerns many experts have about Kennedy, who has long promoted debunked theories about vaccine safety, having influence over U.S. public health.

In 1950, federal officials endorsed water fluoridation to prevent tooth decay, and continued to promote it even after fluoride toothpaste brands hit the market several years later. Though fluoride can come from a number of sources, drinking water is the main source for Americans, researchers say.

Officials lowered their recommendation for drinking water fluoride levels in 2015 to address a tooth condition called fluorosis, that can cause splotches on teeth and was becoming more common in U.S. kids.

In August, a federal agency determined “with moderate confidence” that there is a link between higher levels of fluoride exposure and lower IQ in kids. The National Toxicology Program based its conclusion on studies involving fluoride levels at about twice the recommended limit for drinking water.

A federal judge later cited that study in ordering the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to further regulate fluoride in drinking water. U.S. District Judge Edward Chen cautioned that it’s not certain that the amount of fluoride typically added to water is causing lower IQ in kids, but he concluded that mounting research points to an unreasonable risk that it could be. He ordered the EPA to take steps to lower that risk, but didn’t say what those measures should be.

In his X post Saturday, Kennedy tagged Michael Connett, the lead attorney representing the plaintiff in that lawsuit, the environmental advocacy group Food & Water Watch.

Kennedy’s anti-vaccine organization has a lawsuit pending against news organizations including The Associated Press, accusing them of violating antitrust laws by taking action to identify misinformation, including about COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines. Kennedy is on leave from the group but is listed as one of its attorneys in the lawsuit.

What role Kennedy might hold if Trump wins on Tuesday remains unclear. Kennedy recently told NewsNation that Trump asked him to “reorganize” agencies including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, the Food and Drug Administration and some agencies under the Department of Agriculture.

But for now, the former independent presidential candidate has become one of Trump’s top surrogates. Trump frequently mentions having the support of Kennedy, a scion of a Democratic dynasty and the son of former Attorney General Robert Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy.

Kennedy traveled with Trump Friday and spoke at his rallies in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Trump said Saturday that he told Kennedy: “You can work on food, you can work on anything you want” except oil policy.

“He wants health, he wants women’s health, he wants men’s health, he wants kids, he wants everything,” Trump added.

:awesome:

Good idea.....we have got to get busy figuring out why Americans are so unhealthy even as we spend gobs of money.

Many to most of the vaccines prob should go to.
Go to food additives that we allow that other nations will not. Big Ag is all about profit. Public health and food regualtion is an annoyance requiring billions in lobbying to fight.

Numbskulls.

There isn't a chance of fluoride being removed from drinking water by a Trump administration. There is a chance this loony proposal will cost
Republicans votes on Tuesday; and you can get bet it seals Kennedy's fate in a Trump WH. He will be the next Chris Christie if Trump wins.

Profit? How dare they!

Kamala will implement Stalin's socialist collective farms ag policy, and all food will be free!

Lucky thing Trump won't be able to "actually give Kennedy a role" mandating changes in public drinking water supplies or anything else outside federal authority.

Removing fluorine couldn't hurt. The problem in the US with tooth decay is primarily caused by too much intake of sugar and sugar intensive products like soda.
fuck that gardner.

its a neurotoxin.

people should start brushing their teeth with peroxide.

but dentists don't want that. its bad for business.

professional organizations have captured the science, not for the science, but for the money; health be damned. this works well with the supply side/depopulation agenda.

this is the rise of scientism, and cypress saying Aristotle is Jesus.

Its amazing the things we were told are good for us for which there was never much if any evidence to support, and may actually be a bad idea. I was reading that flossing is another one....I cant go to the dentist without getting lectured about flossing......which I have never done...turns out it is a "Well it sounds like a good idea, and it cant hurt".

The guy I was reading said that the way people actually do it ya, it would be better if we did not.

The people with the worst health, are spending 15 minutes researching a subject, and deciding they are now experts on health. If trump is elected, we are doomed.

The idea of adding fluoride to drinking water is insane. Heck, why don't they just add toothpaste too? And a few tons of dental floss? If it's good for your teeth then it must be good for your stomach. I've got a cut on my finger and I'm putting a Band Aid on it. If they'd only add Band Aids to the drinking water....

You would think that after more than 60 years this stupidity about fearing fluoride in the water would die a natural death. But so long as the guy who eats road kill and has a dead parasitic worm in his brain says he's going to do it you guys march in lockstep.

Fluoride exposure in the womb leads to low IQ. Looks like your momma drank a lot of fluoridated water.

We know now, 60 years later, that those fearing it were right. Fluoride is a neurotoxin, and leads to low IQ in children. Which explains you.
