Governor Rick Snyder (R-Mich.) and his Republican Reich will enact a law that would impose "financial martial law" upon struggling communities in the form of "financial managers" that would have the power to abrogate contracts at will and supersede the democratic process. There's been a lot of recent media attention focused on a similar disregard for the public will in Wisconsin, but what's happening in Michigan really makes Scott Walker look like an amateur.

Michigan Set To Enact Sweeping 'Financial Martial Law' Bill

Michigan lawmakers are on the verge of approving a bill that would enable the governor to appoint "emergency managers" -- officials with unilateral power to make sweeping changes to cities facing financial troubles.

Under the legislation, the Michigan Messenger reports, the governor could declare a "financial emergency" in towns or school districts. He could then appoint a manager to fire local elected officials, break contracts, seize and sell assets, eliminate services - and even eliminate whole cities or school districts without any public input.

Bf, don't you think the swastika and US Constitution toilet paper are a bit much?

Wow, that's not what the bills intent is at all.

I know nobody outside of MI actually knows anything about it, so your gross ignorance is expected, but flat out no. You're incorrect, do not pass go, do not collect two hundred dollars. These financial administrators are being put in place to cure the massive spending problems our state has.

Really? What would have to happen to make those references relevant WB?

It is clear Republican beliefs are not rooted in democracy or the Constitution, so what should we say...oh, it's all OK?

So the government and the democratic process our founding fathers created must be ignored this time, huh?

This is probably the worst disaster Michigan, any state or any people ever faced in the history of mankind, right?

So let me get this straight. Government intervention and regulation of private corporations is good, but government regulation and intervention of government is bad? Uh huh. So since this is the worst crisis humanity has ever faced, what are the powers of these administrators?

Yes..... YOUR idiotic and incomprehensible understanding of what our founding fathers created, must be, not only ignored, but systemically rejected by every American across the board. YOUR the worst disaster any state or federal government has ever encountered, and history (socialism) bears that out. Not only should we IGNORE people of your ilk, we should run you out of our country or hang you from the nearest tree for treason!

Lets see, you are angry at them for the methods they are using to control costs.

So you want to use the symbol of a group who murdered 6 million jews and other "undesireables", and tried to conquer the world.

And since this maneuver may not fit with most people's idea of a democracy, you want to claim their actions are, not only unconstitutional, but that the GOP is actually using the US Constitution to clean their asses?

Yeah, I think its a gross distortion of the facts. I think it is a disgusting use of visual images to try and sway people with an inaccurate emotional appeal.

In otherwords, your visuals are bullshit.

well stated.

He is essentially a buffoon who thinks it is 'cool' to insult the memories of those who suffered at the hands of the Nazis by comparing today's Republicans to the third reich.

Now come on Dixie.

If we didn't have really stupid people like bfoon around, we wouldn't appreciate the knowledge we have nearly as much.

I guess that whole "We should tone down the hostile political rhetoric" is gone now?

Kinda short-lived, wasn't it?

Being honest, I've been refering to them as nazis for the past 40+ years.

And the dems as communists.

It's just ironic, he is complaining about the "democratic process" being followed, and these newly elected Republicans enacting all these "sweeping reforms" are a DIRECT RESULT of the democratic process! What the fuck does he think happened on November 2, 2010? Was that just a beauty pageant or something... didn't really mean anything... didn't have consequences? Does he think those who were elected in record-breaking numbers, were not going to implement what they RAN on?

It seems like all the socialists react this way.

I can't wait for the next election.:)
