Republicans drop the ball in the home stretch

The GOP was headed for one of the most uncontested touchdowns in political history. They would have won easily this November. They just fumbled, and it might give the whole game away.

I'm not sure if they realize how many people they just woke up (sorry to use "woke" there). SO many on both the right & left said that Roe would never be overturned. There was a complacency about it.

This is a political earthquake. Not only does this galvanize the Dem base, it rattles independents and even Republicans who won't be on board with a hard right turn for America. The only historical example that seems close is when Clinton took office and came out immediately with more leftist policies, which got corrected in '94 by the electorate.

November just became much more interesting.

There might be a silver lining.

I think Republicans should nominate Trump in 2024 and run on the platform that they overturned Roe.

Pro-lifers have no idea how out-of-step their views are with 2022 America.

No one wants to see abortions - but the vast majority of Americans at this point support the right. They support freedom.

They are so used to abortion being out of politics to everyone but the fervently anti-abortion, they do not realize what a storm they have created. During Roe v. Wade, voters could vote however they want, knowing that it would not effect keeping abortion legal. Abortion was outside the political realm for most Americans.

Now if it is important to a voter to keep abortion legal, they have to vote against Republicans. They cannot vote for Republicans with the confidence that abortion will be kept legal by the Supreme Court.

The Republican Party is projected to add between 30 and 70 seats in the House. They were previously NOT expected to take back the Senate, but now they are.

If the Republicans pick up about 35 seats, they will be at historic highs all time.

Will the states NOT write and pass laws the make their abortion legislated law more current?

When the Roe and Casey decisions were rendered, our understandings were not complete. In the 90's, DNA evidence was introduced into court proceedings.

Before DNA research was developed and entered the main stream of our society, our commonly understood qualities of Human Life was closer to the Dark Ages than to the 21st Century.

Ignoring the FACT that Human DNA in living cells is the thing that defines Human Life is not only ignorant, it is anti-science and a denial of reality.

More Americans support abortion rights today than at any time in our history. It's not really close anymore - most polls show around 70% support keeping abortion legal.

The projections for GOP gains were before this story. This story changes the entire campaign.

I think Republicans should nominate Trump in 2024 and run on the platform that Demonkkkrats waged war against working class Americans: forcing them to wear masks, forcing them to get vaccinations, implemented energy policy that caused energy prices to skyrocket, gas prices to skyrocket, and food prices to skyrocket, botched the Afghanistan exit, stoked the flames for (and are now directly funding and fueling) the Russia/Ukraine war, subsidized the Ukrainian government, and countless other examples.

I think the Dems should run on the stimulus and the infrastructure packages, pro increase in wages, pro choice, pro easy access to voting, and pro Social Security and Medicare! Programs that actually help the working class.

There is something called the Vocal Majority- and it doesn't always level up to the Voting Majority because of the Deck Stacked against Democrats in the way that states have gerrymandered their districts and in the way we allow states to stack the deck against Democrats with the Delegation electoral process, and in the way the states have a winner take all delegates system!

In other words, not every vote counts in America the way the Republicans have stacked the decks against the Democrats. Many states have adapted and passed new Voter Suppression laws that are restricting the votes of minorities. In many of these Red States, state laws have been passed to allow only Republican Politicians to count and verify the votes, that will allow them to void entire voting districts when the Republican politicians in those states do not like the outcome of the votes.

However, even though the decks have been stacked in favor of Republicans, the Mid-Term elections in 2022 will bring out more DEMOCRAT votes than any other previous Mid-Term elections with so many things in our country at stake- like Democracy- and the rights of women, minorities, and the LGBTQ community- THAT ARE NOW BEING STRIPPED AWAY BY RADICAL WHITE WING RED STATES- such as TEXAS, Florida, Oklahoma, Ohio, and Iowa- just to name a few.

Link?

I have always said that Republicans would gain in the midterms, because the party out of power always does. What I actually said was that it might not be the absolute shellacking you keep predicting, because there are too many protected seats.

So, you might actually be the one lying here. How 'bout that?

Nope. Its not about GAINING. YOU SAID you thought there was still a good chance they could hold on to the house.
