You know..... I don't think you two have a clue that most of America is opposed to your Socialist ideas. I honestly think, in your liberal fantasy world, you believe most people agree with you and are on your side. I think you believe the opposition to be a minuscule number of 'extreme' righties, who represent a 'fringe' of society, and everyone else is okay with what you're doing. The actual TRUTH is, YOU TWO are the "fringe" of society, about 20% of America thinks the way you two think, and believes in this Socialist CRAP! You are FAR outnumbered, and come election day, you are going to see just how pissed off the rest of us are. I don't think either of you are ready for it, and it's going to really floor you when it happens. I can't wait!
So, you believe the majority of Americans don't give a damn about sick people?
Lets see if we can narrow this down a bit. You believe most Americans are opposed to children being covered for pre-existing medical conditions? Sort of a "leave every ill child behind" idea?
You believe most Americans feel young people in their 20s who, characteristically, have a more difficult time finding employment and earn less than older adults when they do obtain employment, due to a lack of experience, should be additionally burdened by having to obtain their own medical coverage rather than being included on their parent's policy?
You believe most Americans want insurance companies to be allowed to drop people when ill folks require the insurance they paid for?
If the above is correct you certainly paint a rather disturbing picture of the average America. I submit it is you and a small mixture of other disgruntled, envious or apathetic individuals who feel that way.
The misinformation and outright lies concerning government/universal medical has poisoned many people's minds, however, like every country that has gone on before once the American citizens experience the reality of a government plan they will fight to preserve it. That's why the Repubs are putting all they have into the struggle, the war, against a government plan. They know that once the citizens start realizing the benefits there will be no turning back just as no other country has reverted to a "pay or suffer" system.
Losing a battle does not necessarily mean losing the war except in this case. The Repubs lost the battle to prevent HCR and will lose the war because as more and more programs go into effect the people will experience the benefits. The rhetoric will become ignored background noise because trying to convince people of a fabricated future downside will be countered by them currently experiencing the upside.
The war has been lost, Dixie. It's just a matter of a formal declaration by way of the Repubs working with the Dems to fine tune the bill.
I would think, you being a southern and all, it would be in your genes how to gracefully lose wars and move on.
