The only reason the present HC law should be over turned is because it doesn't go far enough to address the unsustainable cost of the current pay or suffer system. You're pissing up a rope if you think this should be overturned cause I'm telling you, this is just the beginning. This is just the first step and two more major steps are on the way.
Let me put it to you like this, you have an MBA so figure it out. How much longer do you think Corporate America is going to allow one industry, the Health Care Industry, to take nearly 20% of our economic pie with so little productive output? How much longer do you think the American public is going to allow them to swallow 20% of our economic pie while delivering 3rd world health care outcomes for this nation as is currently occurring?
Currently health care insurance for their employees is costing over 16% and heading towards 20% of operational cost for most major corporations/employers. 20%!! 20 Years ago that was 8% of cost. 30 Years ago it was less than 5% of cost. How much more money are corporations going to hemorage over to insurance companies, who produce about exactly squat, before they start relocating to other countries with rational and sustainable health care management systems?
Currently the US spends more money, with our pay or suffer system, then all the nations in the world but rank 37 in total outcomes. 37!! We have the worlds greatest health care technology, which is great if you want to eat chateaubriand until you need quadruple bypass but we still have third world levels in the incidence of hearth disease, cancer, diabetes and strokes and an infant mortality rate that's an embarrasment for a nation of our wealth and technology.
So the question is, who you going to side with? Those who are seeking rational reforms implemented all ready by most of the modern industrialized capitalist nations of the world or a bunch of GED Trailer park wing nuts who can't even do basic math or are going to trust the freedom loving teabaggers who are going to be the first ones to throw a hissy fit when the Insurance Companies tell them, like they do so many others. Sorry, little Lisa can't have a bone marrow transplant as her luekemia was a pre-existing condition or sorry, Grandma had a stroke.
