Removing race from racism

Branding political opponents as racists has been an effective political weapon for years, but there is a new problem developing with it. Examples of real racism in the current political landscape have become almost impossible to find, so lefties are having to remove the race component of racism in order to keep the politically charged word alive as an effective political weapon. Lefties are having to substitute race with nationality, ethnicity, and religion, in order to keep their political weapon effective.

Racism is one of many forms of bigotry, but bigotry is not racism. Lefties are wanting to remove race from racism, and then retain the political charge of the word to use against a much broader range of bigotry, and against their political opponents for things other than racism. Remember, there is a reason why we can hear the word "race" when we say racism...

Lefties are the ones who have weaponized racism for political gain, and they are not interested in surrendering it any time soon. This is unfortunate for victims of real racism, since they lose the only word that describes what is happening to them. My point in this thread though, is that lefties are removing race from racism.

Righties try to weaponize racism too. They just haven't been as successful.
 
There is only one human race, and anyone who pretends there are separate 'races is either totally ignorant or an evil liar - i.e. a racist.

Discrimination based on nationality or ethnicity is bigotry, not racism. You have provided an excellent example of how lefties are trying to remove race from racism, since nationality and ethnicity are not race.

This is an excellent example of how lefties are trying to remove race from racism. You have denied existence of the five races recognized by the US census, yet you have still used the word "racist" to describe your political opponents. Actual race was not a consideration when you used a word that is reserved for victims of the ugly form of bigotry called racism.

It sounds like you are preparing to stand behind the notion that general bigotry is racism, and that bigotry and racism mean the same thing. Lefties want to use the word "race" to cover all the ugly things covered by the word "bigotry", since bigotry covers a much broader range of intolerance than racism does. Racism has a stronger impact than bigotry, so lefties want to use racism in place of bigotry.
