One lesson which comes to mind is this: If you're an asshole, don't bring your hot fiance--who doesn't love you--on board a doomed passenger ship, where she can escape from your clutches by passing herself off as someone else to the rescue party and be presumed dead. How's that for lessons learned?

Another lesson, don't try to repackage the movie forever later as 3D. It sucked before and will still suck in 3D.
