Relax, Democrats

Democrats have lost their advantage and Republicans now have a slight edge in the battle for control of Congress, according to a new national poll.

A CNN/ORC International survey released Thursday also indicates that Obama may be dragging down Democratic congressional candidates.

Democratic voters seem particularly unenthusiastic about voting, and that is likely to benefit the GOP. Thirty-six percent of Republicans say they're extremely or very enthusiastic about voting. That number drops to 22% among Democrats.

Another GOP advantage is the President's standing with the public: 55% of registered voters say that they are more likely to vote for a congressional candidate who opposes the President than one who supports him and four in 10 say they are likely to vote for a candidate who supports Obama.

"Those kind of numbers spelled early trouble for the Democrats before the 1994 and 2010 midterms, and for the GOP before the 2006 elections," Holland said.

The poll was conducted for CNN by ORC International from December 16-19, with 1,035 adults nationwide questioned by telephone. The surveys' overall sampling error is plus or minus three percentage points.

Congress has a 9% approval rating. Go Pubs!
Do you honestly believe the GOP is capable of inspiring a 9% on their own ? I dont think you will find that to be the case. Just count down the numbers of incumbants in both parties that quit politics as a result of their record. Obamacare will prove costly to the donkeys. A year of bad experience will be impossible to run away from.

I do believe the GOP is capable of inspiring a 8% on their own.
At least our President tried and is still trying to ensure that all Americans have access to health care. What is the alternative that the GOP is recommending?

Your belief is inaccurate regarding the poll we're discussing.

Negative attitudes extend to both sides of the aisle: 52% believe that the policies of the Democratic leaders in Congress would move the country in the wrong direction; 54% say the same about the policies of congressional Republicans.

And 54% say the same thing about President Barack Obamas' policies...

Says the Google nimrod.

it's way too early to get wrapped around any polling axles at this point... I am content to let the primary processes work their way out and we'll see which candidates survive them. From my vantage, Hillary has a much better chance of making it to the finish line for the democrats than fatboy does for his.

Who's "wrapped around any polling axles"?

I notice you think it's OK to call a Republican names...

it's really an accurate moniker... he is a male and he is very fat. I didn't call him a pig, or any other animal sort of name... just pointed out that he was male and fat... ergo... fatboy. Do you dispute that?

as to who is wrapped around the polling axle... one need not go much further than a brief perusal of who is posting threads about polling.
