"Hundreds of foreign and dual nationals and dozens of injured Palestinians are expected to leave Gaza via the Rafah border crossing to Egypt on Thursday, according to Gaza’s border authority. Nearly 600 foreign-passport holders are listed as eligible to depart on Thursday, including 400 Americans. Israel said its troops are continuing to “advance in the area of Gaza City,” amid a ground assault in Gaza that has been shrouded in secrecy. The United Nations condemned a series of deadly Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalya refugee camp in the past two days, saying they “could amount to war crimes.” Israel said the strikes targeted Hamas operatives and infrastructure.

Four UNRWA shelters were damaged by heavy bombardments in the past 24 hours, killing at least 20 people in the Jabalya refugee camp alone, the agency said. “According to the most recent UNRWA estimates, these shelters hosted nearly 20,000 combined," said UNRWA Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini in a statement.

Nearly 30,000 buildings in northern Gaza have been damaged by three weeks of continuous Israeli airstrikes, analysis of satellite imagery reveals. The bombardment has killed more than 8,000 Palestinians and injured more than 22,000, according to the Gaza Health Ministry."

At this rate Israel stands to lose much of its broad support in the West.

It was a military target. Israel has been dropping leaflets for weeks telling people to leave.

The size of the crater is a clue that that target was underground. If the target was people on the surface, a fragmentation bomb or napalm could have been used instead of a ground penetrating bomb. Penetrating bombs leave huge craters. Bombs against soft targets leave small craters, if any at all.

The people pushing war crimes on the Jews always avoid charging Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran for such crimes. Fuck them. They are liars.

If armed forces are using a hospital or school as a base to launch attacks or store weapons, are those places then a legitimate military target?

The laws of war prohibit direct attacks on civilian objects, like schools. They also prohibit direct attacks against hospitals and medical staff, which are specially protected under IHL. That said, a hospital or school may become a legitimate military target if it contributes to specific military operations of the enemy and if its destruction offers a definite military advantage for the attacking side.

If there is any doubt, they cannot be attacked. Hospitals only lose their protection in certain circumstances - for example if a hospital is being used as a base from which to launch an attack, as a weapons depot, or to hide healthy soldiers/fighters. And there are certain conditions too.

Before a party to a conflict can respond to such acts by attacking, it has to give a warning, with a time limit, and the other party has to have ignored that warning. Some States have endorsed the Safe Schools Declaration and Guidelines, which aim to reduce the military use of schools.

If only Hamas could have restrained some of their hatred but they just couldn't couldnt do it could they? They just had to act on their hate. Instead of being responsible leaders who care about the people that elected them and work together with their neighbors to build a better life for their citizens Hamas decided it's better to attack their neighbors. Its sad just how much damage Hamas is responsible for.

"Military target"? I thought it was a residential part of the city, military only in the sense that a cowardly Hamas leader hid himself there, expecting to be protected by the residents as human shields. He probably fled when alerted an attack probably was coming anyway. They with their homes and possessions had nowhere to go.

Military in that Hamas had a Command and Control Center underneath it.

The entire situation in Israel and Gaza is simply going to breed more violence and death and pain across the region.

Hamas is the ruling government in Palestine

Should we have left the Nazi government ruling Germany in 1945?

And should we have done anything and everything to rid Germany of the Nazi government?

Obviously not inasmuch as “anything and everything” would have meant going to war against Germany in 1933 before Hitler had done much of anything and we barely had a military to speak of.

More importunately the world is disillusioned and angry with the West, promoting China Blocs story that the West must be removed from global power because we are abusers of the world.

It is all of the West which is dying.
