Reality?

This is an interesting topic, maybe off topic for politics, but it has some tie in's.

How do you know what is really reality? I have always considered myself a realistic person. I have always been very carefull with my money and made sure I saved a large percentage of what I earn. I live fairly modistly compared to my co-workers and friends who earn about what I earn.

I have often been shocked by what others spend, people who I know earn less than me or way less than they seem to spend. I have sat back and said to myself, I am so glad thats not me, when this comes crumbling down it aint going to be pretty. It never comes crumbling down.

If I spent like they do, Id be broke, living in a shack, and my kids would not have shoes. How do they do it?

My reality is, as I see it, different than them, why?

How can I get that reality? How can I spend like mad, and never have it all fall apart?

Depends on how they spend... if they put it all on credit, then they will just live in debt all their lives and retire poor. If they spend with cash, then there is always credit cards if they don't have any money left for necessities. Eventually they can pay it off, right? It's also always nice to use the power of a good credit score and barter with CC companies when you have to use them. I used them to pay for my wedding, then basically called the CC companies up and threatened to balance transfer to another company if they didn't lower my rate. Well, they took the bait and I'm paying a lower interest rate now.

Ive done that in the past with the CC Companies. Its just that I know people who spend like they are rich, I would have assumed the CC companies would have cut them off by now, but they seem to keep spending and keep spending and living a great life style.

I know one family where I know for a fact they did not make more than $45,000 last year. They have three kids, and they have a $540,000 mortgage on a home worth $300,000. They spend like fish swim. They are out at restaurants that cost at least $150.00 every weekend. They have three or four flat screen tv's, they dress in very expensive cloathing, everytime I am at there house they have a new expensive luxuary item, 10 days in Paris last summer, snow skiing this winter. It goes on and on.

I just dont understand how that works. Does the power of posative thinking really extend that far? If so, I am going to try to convince myself that I dont need savings, just start spending.
