Despite high expectations for this past week's Republication National Convention, television executives and producers say the event failed to deliver the through-the-roof ratings that many expected.

Trump took to Twitter to praise the convention for being "one of the best produced," with "Big T.V. ratings!"

According to Nielsen viewership data released Friday, 32.2 million viewers across 10 different networks watched Trump's acceptance speech on Thursday night.

That figure falls short of the 2008 viewership of John McCain's RNC speech: 38.93 million viewers across three networks.

Throughout the entire week of the RNC, viewership was on about the same level as that of the 2012 convention, falling far below any GOP record.
