Reality check : Pro-life laws in action.

Well boys & girls, you can put all the "what if's", "could be's", "might be's", etc. to rest.

Here's is real life case that demonstrates one of the consequences of when a state enacts christo-fascist laws regarding abortion.

'Pure torture': Florida family says DeSantis-backed abortion law put them through hell

"Deborah Dorbert discovered she was pregnant in August. Her early appointments suggested the baby was thriving, and she looked forward to welcoming a fourth member to the family. It didn’t occur to her that fallout from the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn a half-century constitutional right to abortion would affect them," reported Frances Stead Sellers, Thomas Simonetti, and Maggie Penman. "A routine ultrasound halfway through her pregnancy changed all that."

It turned out that the fetus growing inside her had Potter syndrome, a condition where there is not enough amniotic fluid to support the pregnancy. Babies who develop in this condition rarely survive.

"The state’s ban on abortion after 15 weeks of gestation has an exception for fatal fetal abnormalities. But as long as their baby’s heart kept beating, the Dorberts say, doctors would not honor their request to terminate the pregnancy," said the report. "The doctors would not say how they reached their decision, but the new law carries severe penalties, including prison time, for medical practitioners who run afoul of it. The hospital system declined to discuss the case. Instead, the Dorberts would have to wait for labor to be induced at 37 weeks."

If you are an expecting parent and there is a chance your child could survive why wouldn’t you take that chance?

This lady simply wanted to kill it because there was a risk.

The outcome was the same so what is she bitching about?

Do you have a reading comprehension problem?

What did the article say, genius? There wasn't a "chance" in this case, birth would result in death. The doctors CONFIRMED THE DIAGNOSIS.

Thanks to clowns like DeSantis, this couple was FORCED into giving birth to a child destined to die within hours after birth....and it SUFFERED....just as diagnosed.

Dogmatic dunces like yourself just ignore what you don't like and blather on to the point of insipidness.

Your last sentence speaks volumes of your sheer willful and proud ignorance on the subject. It also proves that christo-fascist cretins like yourself don't give a damn about the REAL people who have to live with your twisted dogma...just as long as you have some warped idea that you ideology "won" against "those people" (fill in the blank).

Funny you don't get along with the Taliban.

Third paragraph in the link idiot.

It says babies in this condition RARELY survive meaning some do.

But this lady would rather kill her baby than give it a small chance at life.

She will burn in hell

Read the REST of the article, genius. It's called comprehensive reading...something you should have learned in grade school. Then do a little research as to how long the "rare survivors" live (about 5 years with critically defective kidneys). Milo lived for just 1&1/2 hours....barely breathing with malfunctioning lungs and kidneys. And the parents had to go through the pregnancy to term knowing this would be the outcome.

But like I said, christo-fascist like you don't give a damn, so long as your twisted religious dogma is satiated. And God forbid if the Dorberts applied for social services...you'd REALLY lose it!

Make people suffer, doom an infant to a short, painful and suffering life. The Dorberts are already in hell, courtesy of DeSantis and POS like you.

Like the Taliban, YOU will be sent to the appropriate level of hell.

Children can and have survived Potters Syndrome, it depends on what the underlying cause is which your link convienently leaves out to push its abortion agenda

Are you really this insipidly stubborn or just some fucking stupid christo-fascist?

What did I say in the last post, toodles. 5 years is the most you can expect the RARE Potters Syndrome kids to live...and they do that with critically compromised kidneys and lungs. LOOK IT UP! I know willful ignorance is a cornerstone for christo-fascist when it comes to abortion, but I tire of doing others homework. Come back when you're up to speed on the subject.

We have North Korean provinces posing as American states and having American electoral votes.

If the people from the real states, i.e., the blue ones,
don't choose to expel them from the republic,
there's no point even talking about the damage that they're doing.

How many times must i say it?
There are NO moderate solutions to radical problems.

Man, you are one twisted little christo-fascist. Right here you are willing to condemn a woman to bring to term and give birth to child with the various suffering/short life span as described...that satisfies YOUR particular religious dogma. Mind you, YOU DON'T KNOW AND DON'T CARE TO KNOW THESE PEOPLE, but just the idea that their life's actions contradict your mythological version of reality makes you support political laws to control others (but not you).

And as to what the vast majority of abortions entail: https://www.plannedparenthood.org/l...res/what-happens-during-an-in-clinic-abortion

"crush their skulls" was the mantra over 40 years ago. Things have changed, don't cha know.

Civil War? Hmmm, interesting proposal if one is our age and won't have to worry about being conscripted. But sad to say I see that coming in some form before I pass from this world.

Civil wars are rarely like ours was.

They're usually two factions trying to take over the entire nation,
not trying to partition it.

We don't need a civil war.
The blue states just need to call a new constitutional convention and not invite the red states.

They can keep the old one, and if they love the name of the republic so much,
I don't care if they keep that, too. It's a little unwieldy, anyway.

We can even let them keep a few of the nukes.
They couldn't figure out how to set them off if their cracker lives depended on it.
No war needed.

I hope you're being sarcastic and cynical, because however you slice it, what you are saying would result in a Civil War akin to days of old. Maybe if we get an actual 3rd party of Independents, and people really organize to resist the SOS we may actually have a bloodless change for the better. Say what you will about the Europeans, but they can only be pushed so far before they organize, take to the streets and say "nobody goes to work until we see some change". Americans should take note.

Translation: Tinkerpeach has NO factual, logical or rational retort....just christo-fascist troll blather. He's done.

I'm not being the least bit sarcastic, and I can't help but be cynical.

First, I can see no use for a third party loosely defined as "independents' and not visibly placed somewhere on the political map.

if they're between the Dems and the pachys, they're still fucking useless.

If they're to the left of the Dems, that's a start, but I'd have to see balls that are invisible right now.

I still don't see why partition has to mean war.

The US is cool with attacking sand piles and rice paddies and the like,
but they're not quick to defend Ukraine against Russia, which at least has a pulse

They'd be no quicker to attack a new nation with New York and California in it,
and without New York and California's revenues to do it.

As for taking to the streets, been there and done that.
Wish the young ones could put down their phones and X-Boxes long enough to try it.

And the wheels come off your "logic" wagon with your 3rd sentence.

You can't dismiss people who can see plausibility of some of the proposals "from the other side" of the political fence, because if you do then you're just the current status quo.

And the status quo will lead to some type of physical confrontation. At present the Democrats are playing chess while the Republicans are playing dodge ball. And lets face it, when it comes to the corporate dollar each party only varies slightly. Hell, that's why the Dems sandbagged Sanders!. You'll NEVER see the current DNC get behind a truly Progressive candidate. At the same token, the GOP is having it's upheaval as the Nixon era folks have had to contend with neocons, then teabaggers and now MAGA mooks.

That leaves the average schmoe (you and me) in the current boat.

And I don't know what "been there, done that" you've done in your life....but taking to the streets during the 1960's and early 1970's got changes in our laws. Period. I would hope that next time it won't go violent, but the powers that be seem to be pushing to that. I just hope ALL ages remember the lessons of Ghandi and King.
