What we're not getting is this:
we don't get to define the parties involved.
We don't know what the "regular people" are like.
We certainly don't get to say what the "regular people" are like.
And most importantly of all,
the "regular people" aren't going to impact what actually happens.
We have to either choose between Hamas and Netanyahu or stay out of it.
HAMAS is the Palestinians and Netanyahu is the Jews.
Anybody not doing that isn't relative to the discussion.
Talking lollipops and rainbows to stress your concern for the "regular people"
is just being an irrelevant Pollyanna.
In actual practice, in the world that actually exists, one must take a side
that's actually involved in what's going to happen.
