Rasmussen... showing the two parties equalizing as the election approaches?

The GOP seems to be blowing it.

What do you think about when you think "GOP" now? Glen Beck, Sarah Palin, the more radical elements of the TEA party, the idea of your house burning down under the "new way," a lame, rather generic "pledge to America."

There is also an effect of Obama being out on the trail, no matter what SF says. There can be a bit of a backlash when you spend over a year painting a picture of a guy as a bumbling, incompetent fool, and then people seeing him again and remembering that hey, he's actually pretty smart after all.....

as for Obama... being 'smart' when reading from a teleprompter or chanting party lines in front of your most devoted followers is hardly game changing.

But hey... if you think he is helping, please use him often... people may say 'gee he is smart'... but that will be quickly followed up by 'so why hasn't he figured out how to kickstart the economy in 2 years?' or 'so why did he force feed us something that the majority didn't want' or 'why wasn't he able to figure out that health care costs would rise with his idiotic Obamacare?'
