racist baker in trouble

Freedom of speech is a funny thing, it applies regardless of whether some are offended by it. When tax dollars were used to fund the NEA's Mapplethorpe Exhibit, featuring an upside-down crucifix submerged in urine, it was abhorrently offensive to many people, but it was lauded as a marvelous example of free speech and freedom of expression. The only difference I see here is, these cookies aren't being paid for with your tax dollars. Are they racially offensive? Yes, but don't look at them and don't buy them!

As for his mildly hostile comments toward Obama, I think I can safely say, far worse was said during the 8 years of Bush, some of it on this very board. So, get some thicker skin pinheads! I already see what's coming down the road with the completely aloof and incompetent Obama presidency, and I assure you, it's going to get a helluva lot worse than this.

Oh... and a note to our racial historian Mr. ThreeDee... this was Lafayette French Bakery in New York, N.Y. ...just for the record, that is not in the South.

Okay, he's one of ours. He even bakes for very cosmopolitan venues like Sex & the City!!!

Exactly, and you need to remember that the next time you go on one of your little hate-filled rants directed at the "racist South!" Time and time again, when we hear of these stories regarding racially questionable actions, isn't it curious how they always seem to be happening in places far removed from "The South?" That is just amazing as hell to me, since you'd think, to hear you tell it, we'd see the exact opposite happening.

That's NOT to say we don't have our share of racist people here, but they damn sure don't own bakeries!

You mean like the Jenna story?... oh, wait. Nevermind...

if stating that he hopes that bho follows lincoln's path and is assassinated is minor

yes, there is freedom of speech (unless it is applied as part of a hate crime - not something i approve of) to make racist comments - just as people who are offended have the right not to purchase his products

while bad things were said about gwb, it was mainly because they were earned - bho has only been in office for a few days

aloof presidency? is he not going to congressional reps to talk to them rather than calling them to the wh

well, for once i am going to break character and say boo hoo to the conservatives the reps blew it and the latest elections proved that

actions have consequences provided by elections

LOL... you're telling conservatives to get over it because of one racist knucklehead in N.Y.? Are you trying to be the left-wing version of Hannity?

Its a Drunken Negro cookie for gods sake.

Have you NO shame meme.

YES! It IS minor compared to some of the hate and vile that was directed at GWB, and NO, not ALL that hate and vile was warranted or deserved.

Right, you have the right to not purchase his products, or to boycott him and urge others to as well. You don't have the right to censor him, or deny him his rights to free speech. You don't have the right to make him stop selling his racist cookies if he wants to.

It is YOUR OPINION the things said about Bush were earned!!! That is the fundamental point you seem to be missing here! Not every fucking one agrees with you, in fact, about HALF the people disagree with you! BHO hasn't been in office but a few days, and already we hear cries of "racism" over silly things like this! Bush was attacked from the day he won the election of 2000, and it didn't stop for 8 fucking years! I'd say you better get used to it, because it is going to get much MUCH worse for BHO! Welcome to the 1st Amendment!

aloof presidency? is he not going to congressional reps to talk to them rather than calling them to the wh

I don't know what the fuck he's doing, and I don't believe he knows! He was a completely unqualified person to elect to the presidency of the United States, and his lack of experience will ultimately show. That's MY opinion, and I will speak it until you idiot pinheads strip me of my rights to do so!

well, for once i am going to break character and say boo hoo to the conservatives the reps blew it and the latest elections proved that

What the latest election proves is, Conservatives need to take back the Republican party and get on message, rather than trying to placate Liberalism! Obama attracted a cult-like following of people who simply voted for a personality, and nothing more.

actions have consequences provided by elections

Yes they do! And ONE of those 'consequences' is having to deal with critics and the voice of dissent! Your side hasn't really had to do that, you've been the voice of dissent! You've been the critics! Now the shoe is on the proverbial other foot, and you will have to deal with the daily barrage of attacks, both "earned" and not deserved... that's part of the deal! Get used to it!

He Deserves every ounce of any derision he gets. He is the worst president in history and we are just now able to scratch the surface on what he left us with.

Will there be an announcement or known time when death threats against Obama are deemed to warranted or deserved?

Well, no he's not the "worst president in history" because I can name at least 5 who were markedly worse by any objective evaluation. The thing is, you are far from "objective" and it's your OPINION he was the worst. That's fine Desh, I won't try to deny you the right to express your opinion, I won't try to strip your right to free speech because I disagree with you. We are all entitled to our opinion, and to speak our opinions.
